As mad as I get after losses, I'm still in the keep Miles camp. I don't want to start over. I know this opinion seems like an outlier to the others on this board, but I also think if we went something like 18-14 or 19-13 next year and happened to miss the tourney as a bubble team but finally made the NIT I still wouldn't want Miles fired because that's at least showing progress. If you have a season like that you're definitely a tourney team in 2018-2019.

I get it. I hope you're right.

With Miles' coaching ability becoming more in quesiton and Marc Boehm still being Marc Boehm, is it a good time to at least bring this audio back from the dead? (still somewhat relevant/fully hilarious btw)
-
You're telling me Copeland and Palmer are going to make this a tourney team? Laughable. Grass is always greener next year tho. Unreal.

According to the Omaha World Herald article that just came out, the allegations against Mo Watson are pretty damn ugly. Wow.

This is the first game where I don't really have a subtle excuse to help me get over it. I've used freshman development, absence of Morrow, being on the road, playing ranked teams, and just bad match ups this year (MSU). There is no reason to lose by 16 AT HOME to a team one spot above you near the bottom of the conference rankings. What the hell just happened?

I'm really nervous Indiana is going to hire a big time coach if that happens and it won't matter. -
Northwestern and Nebraska in the NCAA Tournament
OmahaHusker replied to jayschool's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
On top of winning out the next 3, we'd have to make it to the conference finals for them to even consider it. The committee's perception of the B1G this year doesn't help our cause if that were to happen. I'm still worried about us getting a bid for the NIT I'd worry about that one first. -
Not good. The wheels are falling off for Creighton's season
-
I'd like to know what happened behind closed doors in regards to Lee mentioning "Glynn Watson actually committed to Creighton for about 24 hours." That's news to me. Also just a great article all around. Miles has shown he deserves to keep his job and ride this thing out. I'm very optimistic.

Ummm no hahah unless you think we can beat out Duke, Kentucky, or Kansas

How does next season end (assuming Miles is retained)?
OmahaHusker replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I think bubble team and NIT next year and for sure NCAA tourney team in 2 years. If Miles makes the NIT next year and wins a couple games he shouldn't lose his job in my opinion. -
He was leading the nation in assists and was a top 5 point guard in the nation by several analysts so I can understand there being a drop off. But you're right, the drop off has been much worse than I thought it would be too. It's also easy for us to critique them when we're from the outside looking in. Can you imagine if this Husker team was somehow 18-1 and had Final Four aspirations....and then we suddenly lose Tai mid-season. I'd be standing on the edge of the Woodmen Tower right now.

Haha ok but let's not act like Rutgers is head and shoulders above Georgetown let's be real here. We haven't won a game without Ed and our two best players are still on the court.
-
They look like a completely different team. No offense at all. I want to play this team.

I'll admit that I feel for my Bluejay friends up here in O-town. They are in full depression mode to say the least. Tough break for Mo hope he heals up and has a great career wherever he ends up playing.
-
The one thing I am 100% in agreement with in the article is the comparison/jab at Gerry. No captain should put himself before the the team in such an irresponsible manner. Just tired of him....and the fact all the football players were backing him? Hilarious. I know he brought a lot to the program physically but that's not the type of captain I want leading our team

Well it's official...the Nebrasketball podcasters need a media pass for every game now. -
Not to break away from Basketball...but

We're all pros at the Airing of Grievances aspect -
Thanks that's exactly what I meant. But @Nebrasketballer is also right. This state literally goes insane for anything that wins. I mean INSANE. And if you aren't from this state you really don't understand it. We converted an old basketball arena into an arena that we sell out every damn game for our volleyball team for crying out loud. What Miles needs to sell for us (since his scheme of "defense is offense" is boring as hell) is that a player can go down here as a legend if he wins here rather than just being a good player at a consistently good school. And I think it's easier to pull that narrative in basketball than in football because there's only 5 guys on the court. One guy can change a game.
