  1. Getting Palmer was never really a worry for me. I kinda felt like we had him in the bag right away. With Miles' history with transfers and the playing time that will be available next year, it was kind of a no brainer imo. Jordy has been my biggest worry. I didn't know if we would even get him on campus but now that we did I think our chances are good. He has a Big Ten body and seems like he will be able to hold his own right away. AW3 has me stressing but nothing you can do about it really. If he thinks he has a shot he's gone and since he already will have his degree I can't really be mad at the guy. Hopefully he is back in a Husker uniform next year. The last scholarship needs to go to a center, preferably one that can play right away. If for whatever reason another scholarship is open we need another guard.
  2. James Palmer just committed
  3. Man just a bone head error away from a sweep. A much needed sweep btw.
  4. I always wondered why Placzek didn't lead off. Seems like he draws a walk almost every at bat and is a decent hitter.
  5. I laughed when it happened tbh.
  6. Well that sucked
  7. Pretty sure the latter.I figured that was more than likely the answer since Burkamper and Meyers gave been pitching well and Waldron is healthy. And yep as I type McSteen is coming in to pitch the 8th.
  8. The OWH preview for the Rutgers series has Burkamper, Waldron, and Meyers listed as the weekend starters. Anyone know if McSteen is hurt or did he just get pulled from the rotation?
  9. I was reading the OWH article about Jordy today and it said he matched up against a Kentucky 5 star recruit this past season and Jordy but up 13 points 18 reb and 3 block. Impressive.
  10. Mavs redshirted 6-10 Zach Pirog this year. Kid's chest must have measured about 28 inches, so we'll see if they've beefed him up enough to play. Heiman looks like he's about the same size.Zach Pirog played this year and did not redshirt. Rarely played any meaningful minutes but still played nonetheless.
  11. Let's just play it safe though and bring out the brooms this weekend.
  12. Series win is kind of a must imo. We are tied for 6th right now. If we lose the series to Rutgers we drop in the standing and only have a one game lead on them with them owning the tiebreaker. With series against Michigan State, Indiana, and Penn State ahead (all tied or ahead of us in the standings) we HAVE to win the Rutgers series. With that being said, I think our schedule is solid enough down the stretch that we still have a chance at an at large with a 10-4 or 11-3 finish and decent showing in the Big Ten tourney.
  13. Won 4 out 5. A sweep over Rutgers would make me feel a little better but we definitely need to win the series for Big Ten standings purposes. Of the four games we have won recently the opponent has only scored 2 runs or less so pitching is coming around (hopefully to stay). If the bats heat up simultaneously, we have the schedule to go on a tear to end the season and still get some quality wins.
  14. It's a must for UNO to lock up the local talent that isn't quite good enough for Nebraska or Creighton. The good thing is there is a lot of it for the Mavs.
  15. Alot of good D1 talent in the state right now.
  16. So a little off topic, but what are th chances TP would have been playing for us this past season if these new draft rules were in place last year. Not asking if you would have wanted him on the team or not, only if you think he would be.
  17. That's obviously not true. It also doesn't indicate which guys have agents and which ones don't.Clearly hyperbole on my part. But my point is, getting into the NBA is like, really REALLY hard to do. If one has even the slimmest of shots at it, they must take their chance. How AWIII declaring is an indictment against anything I'll not understand. Sure, we'd like to have kids come back to play for DONU just because they love playing in Lincoln NE for free and our entertainment SO MUCH, but that's unrealistic. Not everybody is as stupid as Douggie McBuckets... Wouldn't call him stupid. His play from senior year is what elevated him into a lottery pick in the the NBA draft. it still cost him millions of $ to play his senior year. That's not exactly what I'd call brilliant. I'm not gonna do the math but a low to mid second round draft pick makes a decent amount less than a lottery pick. So yes he may have missed a years worth of salary but he also increased the amount of money he will be making over his rookie contract by staying in college another year and becoming a lottery pick.
  18. Care to elaborate more on your source's "Tim Miles show" and "sideshow" comments?I don't think we're allowed to discuss the side show on here.Man I am completely lost.

  21. He's accumulated 6 offers in the past couple weeks.
  22. So Andrew White's decision to either play pro ball somewhere or come back here for another year, degree in hand, is primarily a reflection on the coaching staff? That's certainly one view. In regards to Andrew White insisting on going pro despite what scouts are telling him, why does he need to buy into what they're telling him? You've made an inference that White leaving is an indication of problems with the staff and almost everyone disagrees with you. So you're right in the face of disagreeing opinion but White isn't? Finally, if he does think he's going to get drafted and doesn't pull out of the draft, he can't come back regardless of whether or not he gets drafted. If he ends up playing in Europe because he overestimated his NBA value he won't be the first nor the last player to do so. This leads me to ask how accurate and realistic are the evaluations these players get? Would hate to see any player (especially if that player is AW3) be mislead about there chances of being drafted.
  23. So just a bunch of radio guys speculating?
  24. Man it can't be May 25th fast enough
  25. I wouldn't say overblown. AW3 could take us from a losing team to NIT or NIT to NCAA or NCAA one and done to first ever tourney win (you get the point). I don't think he will get drafted and I think he is doing it for the same reason many players are. But you never really do know.
