When will our complete non conf be released? I saw Creightons was released recently. I'm excited to see how the rest of ours fills out.
-
Leslee Smith graduated the year before and Jordy hasn't gotten on campus yet. I was strictly basing the team off of this past season plus the addition of Terran and Walt had they decided to stay at NU.
-
I know talking about the past does nothing for us but man imagine if we could have rolled out this team for 15-16: -Glynn Watson -Terran Petteway -Andrew White -Shavon Shields -Walter Pitchford (motivated, locked in) BENCH -Tai Webster -Ed Morrow -Benny Parker -Michael Jacobson -Jack McVeigh -Jake Hammond -Nick Fuller With this, McVeigh and maybe Jacobson redshirt, but man that is really fun to think about. With that being said, next season cannot come fast enough!
-
White would have just been a better version of Gallegos if Terran would have stayed.
-
Jordy will provide defense right away at 6'11 270lbs and a 7'4 wingspan. I'm hoping that by the end of the season he can play over 20 min a game.
-
AW3 definitely would not have put up those numbers if he was on a team with Terran AND Shavon. Terran would have still gotten his and my guess is that both Shavon and AW3 would have regressed to the 12-14 point range. No way we have three 16+ PPG on one team.
-
I heard he wasn't coming until mid to late July.
-
Arop will be a force defensively but his offensive game will definitely need some work. He is a redshirt candidate imo.
-
I hope Zay has more realistic perspective on his likely contributions his freshman season than most of us fans do. I think half of us have him either All-American or Hall of Fame at the end of his first season. I'm more tempered in my expectations and realize those things won't come until probably season #2. Agreed. I think he will have a typical freshman season: some games where he shines and other games where he disappears for a little bit.I think I have him slotted in for 18 minutes, 6 pts, 3 reb, and 2 asst per game.

Looking at 2017 this is how I see it 1: Watson Jr, ? Gill ? 2: Gill, Palmer, Arop 3: Roby, McVeigh, Arop, Palmer, Fuller 4: Morrow, Horne, Jacobson, McVeigh 5: Tshimanga We will find out how well Gill can handle the bar but as you can see we definitely need another gaurd who can handle the ball and another Jordy. I'd say wings and forwards is the last thing we need, unless it's a PF that can hold his own against Big Ten Centers.
-
I'd say with Arop counting as SG/SF we need to use the other two scholarships on a PG and a big bodied C like Jordy.

In light of recent events ... a poll.

I haven't lost hope for next season like some have. Two things remain the same: we will still have one of the best trios of gaurds in the Big Ten and we will have the most talented front court in the Miles era. With White we lose 3pt shooting and rebounding but McVeigh will be better and I think we will all find ourselves being extremely satisfied with what Isaiah Roby is bringing to the table. I'm ready for the season to start all ready!!! -
Agree with this 100%. Evelyn was far from a world beater in terms of talent but I think he could have been a solid player for us. Personally, I think his shooting percentages were so poor bc in the limited garbage time he recieved he was pushing too hard instead of letting the game come to him.
-
Also we have through the second week of the fall semester to add a player for the upcoming season.
-
Miles said in OWH article that he is actively pursuing another addition who is eligible for next season. He would prefer a grad transfer so the schollie is open again for next season but will take anything he likes. TM is looking for athleticism and perimeter scoring. Seems like he is looking for a 1-3 player (doesn't mention anything about bigs). Also he says the gaurd minutes are pretty much covered between Tai, Gill (makes me feel good about Gill hearing it from Miles), and Watson but knows we are thin so he wouldn't say no to adding another gaurd.
-
I would like to see McVeigh bulk up just a tad to help with rebounding. During last year's Spain trip he averaged like 7 rebounds and had about two near double doubles. During the season though he wasn't very active on the boards. He has the wingspan to be a good rebounder but I think he needs a little more muscle to rebound against Big Ten forwards (which he will hopefully have by the start of the season).
-
I was beginning to think Arop would be a SF or very undersized PF (w/ a good wing span) so it is good to hear he is displaying good ball handling skills that will allow him to play gaurd.
-
Would definitely like to pick up another body. Preferably a gaurd or center grad transfer so if there is baggage or a lack of talent we only have them for one year.
-
Morrow will be a beast... as long as his foot is healed.
-
Do we have enough guys to even play 5 on 5

Yep. Gotta stay healthy this year. For practice we will have 11 scholarship players and 1 walk on. We prob add 2-3 walkons before the season starts. Really wish Trueblood and Borchardt would've have stayed bc we need bodies and those two were high quality walkons imo. -
Miles gets a sixth year imo. He is bringing in good talent and high character student athletes. Unless next year is a complete disaster I think the AD keeps him around with 7/10 players being Fr and So.
-
I know Tai isn't the happiest. I dont think he's in a position to leave though. What is he specifically unhappy about?
-
Andrew White leaving hurts short term, but should be good for us long term. That's about 30 min a game that will be filled by McVeigh (So), Roby (Fr), and Horne (Fr). This is also a team that will only have one senior and 7/10 players that will make up our rotation will be Fr. and So. As the title of another thread states, THE SKY IS NOT FALLING.

A Different Perspective: The Sky is not Falling

If things go our way (mainly injuries), I could see us being a middle tier NIT team. -
OK, AWIII is gone. Let's guess where he ends up.

I'm not sure how the grad transfer rules work but I sure hope he wont/can't go to a Big Ten school or even a school that we are scheduled to play next year.
