  1. Yep. That's the one I was agreeing with.
  2. I was making fun of the fact that there were so many new names in such a short span of time that it was like "now who?" I shoulda used an emoji.
  3. That's what she said?
  4. I agree. We won't know what the finished product looks like until we see it on the floor, and it's certainly possible Jervay, for example, doesn't live up to the hype right away. After all, it generally takes jucos at least a semester to acclimate. But if you just look at things prospectively and ask yourself has the staff done a good job of putting the program in a position to be successful the first year, you'd have to say they have. At least I would.
  5. Here's an observation from John Rothstein I found interesting:
  6. Here's how John Rothstein sees things:
  7. Here's the official AD response. Probably worth a listen:
  8. Look how quickly these guys get this play down and all the counters and variations.
  9. Good question @khoock. I don't know whether the sit-out transfers can play in games in Italy but I'm pretty sure they can practice with the team. Ouedraogo, unfortunately, will be playing for France in the FIBA Euro Champs until Mid-August, so he won't be here until after that point, so he'll miss all of that preparation for Italy and the opportunity to gel with the team. I haven't heard of anyone else who won't be here right away. I think they can show up basically the first 5-week session of summer school, which would start in early June, if I'm not mistaken.
  10. Seems so. So, go balls to the wall on the class of 2021.
  11. I honestly don't see which of these players people would have been critical of if Miles had recruited them instead. Even if you cherry-pick the bottom three or four. What did Dube Okeke have that Derrick Walker doesn't have? Except immediate eligibility? What did Jeriah Horne have that Kevin Cross doesn't? What did Jordy Tschimanga have that Yvan Ouedraogo doesn't have? I mean, I don't see that anyone would have criticized Miles for any of these players, and they would have been pretty damned elated with Miles for landing quite a few of them. And, in terms of volume, we got 3 recruiting cycles worth of players we would have been thrilled to land in the past ... in 1 month.
  12. More of an apples-to-apples comparison with Miles would be: Sergej Vucetic Terran Petteway Walter Pitchford Deverell Biggs And re-recruited Shavon Shields Benny Parker
  13. There was a reason Chris Mack wanted him, and when he left Xavier for Louisville, that Mick Cronin wanted him at Cinci. It's because he's good darned player. And now he's a Husker. Their loss is definitely our gain.
  14. I think what the staff has done so far is nothing short of astonishing, taking into consideration the timeframes involved. I don't see a Sergej Vucetic among the players Hoiberg has brought in. They didn't get everyone they wanted, but they got an awful lot. And they got most of the pieces they would want to have to build a roster. I wouldn't say any of these kids are reaches and I've evaluated them the same way I would have evaluated them if Miles was recruiting them. I think Rivals rankings are interesting and a good general guide, but I've always preferred watching whatever video I can to draw my own conclusions. And I've never been shy about saying what I think about players and straying from the Rivals ranking from time to time. (Recent example would be Mac McClung whom I was astonished wasn't ranked and said so before he ever played a game in college -- and then he averages 13.1 ppg as a true freshman at G'town last year.) Like I said, I don't see these guys as being reaches, the players Hoiberg has brought in. And I wouldn't have criticized Miles or questioned him if he'd gotten any of these same commits, except for the one I questioned Hoiberg on, which is the big kid from Tennessee who has to sit out a year. But I'm going to assume he knows what he wants and has a reason for wanting that particular guy. The proof is obviously in the eating of the pudding. But as of this moment in time, I can't see giving this staff a grade of less than an A.
  15. Someone really quick sent it to me. I said white "N." I got a red "N" with a white border, but whatever. Close enough. ?
  16. Don't sleep on my boy Dachon.
  17. This post didn't age well. But, then again, who knew @Searching 4 Chester Surles had such ridiculous, magical powers? I'm thinking of asking him to materialize me a new car. Like maybe a Porsche.
  18. Someone who's good at memes, do me a favor. The red dress needs a white "N" on it; the girl in blue needs a Creighton logo; and the dude needs to be labelled "Jay Sker."
  19. Dawson Garcia is the Rivals #34 player for 2020 and we've offered him.
  20. OK, forget that other thread. Now that recruiting is complete for at least this week, grade the staff.
  21. Should I maybe wait a couple more hours just in case the roster changes a few more times?
  22. Gimme a chance to redo my poll, guys. Have a feeling some will want to change their votes.
  23. Imma say top 10.
