I’m not going to apologize for supporting Miles until the end. He deserved it. He is part of the reason today happened. He was a good dude. More than that, he was a Husker through and through.
I said at the beginning of the year that it was NCAA or bust for me and that if we did get rid of Miles, we had to have a home run hire. We managed that. It’s a good day for Nebraska basketball.
Now its put up or shut up time for Nebraska. There isn’t no “hope” Fred can get it done. Fred has to get it done. We HAVE to give him time. We HAVE to take out bad lumps without jumping off of a cliff. This has to be the time for us to get it done.
With being a great hire comes expecting great results. This is uncharted territory. Will be a fun ride.
Some people have been out for Thor since the minute he arrived on campus. We tend to do that to our players from time to time. Benny, Tai (his first two years) etc.
One currently had a job to do, was employed by NU, and was noticed by both coaches and players. Trust me when I says lot coaches and players weren’t happy.
The other has no commitments and is currently unemployed.
I think thats a big difference.
Honestly thought the defender got a piece of the elbow. If you look at it live, the ball didn’t even make hoop. I think there was a foul on the arm... no foul low.
I'll still hold out until an official hire is announced. With what we are hearing right now... this is a very botched situation. I hope that isn't the case in the end.
Here’s the thing. By him putting his name in there, he can talk with other schools. Now it’s, once again, a recruiting battle that a new coach will have to win. Depending on other schools reaching out.
Does this happen if we let Miles go after the Big 10 tournament and we name a new coach on Monday who greets the players when they get back from TCU?
I know that’s not how Moos does things but it could have saved some headache. Maybe... maybe not. Just a thought.
