Don't have to go back that far. I haven't read every page of every thread since the game yesterday, so maybe this has been posted. 1986. Dave Hoppen blows out his knee at Colorado. When I was at the game yesterday, and I saw Cope on the floor, I said, "Been there, done that." He's not coming back from that one. Here's what happened after Hoppen went out in 1986: Bernard Day, Brian Carr, Harvey Marshall and Anthony Bailous stepped up their fricking games. NU went 6-4 after Hoppen went down and we made the Tourney. We go 6-4 in our next 10 because Palmer, Watson, Roby, Allen and everyone else decide they will take it upon themselves to "will" us to victories in the NCAA Tourney.

Nebraska fans have been "spoiled" with great coaches in many of their programs. Devaney/Osborne in football, Petit/Cook in volleyball, Pepin in track, Van Horn in baseball, Yori and the hot chick back in the 80's women's hoops, wrestling, sorry names escape me--don't follow the sport, Revelle in softball, Francis Allen in gymnastics and whoever coaches women's bowling--that person is really good! Missing from the list is men's basketball. Haven't had one in my lifetime, probably not in the history of the program. Sigh....

This team has tons of talent. Either the coaching staff or the players need to figure out how to bring that talent out on game days. I don't care who does it. Just do it.

I'm not in the camp that thinks we gave the Minnesota game away. Minnesota was going to win that day whoever they played. They had karma on their side. Both Michigan schools would have lost in Minneapolis that night. The shirts the players wore pregame will more than make up for the loss the rest of the season, karma-wise.

Maybe posted elsewhere, Maryland is 0-10 in their last ten games versus ranked opponents.

I think you can blame a lot of the negativity on all the pro sports in that area. When people get paid to play a sport, the fans demand production. I would imagine that's why the Bluejay message board is so hate-filled...
