I liked the line about Nebraska being "the San Diego of the Big Ten". Even if he apparently stole it from coach Cook, it's a good one.

My favorite lines from the article: Danny Nee's advice, "...you can do it here, but you got to get players, got to get players, got to get players." And his response to the Creighton question, "I don't think I lost any friends. I may have made some enemies, but I'm not sure those people were going to be my friends anyway. I believe in Nebraska. I'm a Nebraska basketball coach." Coach Miles's belief in the program and not getting caught up in what people who don't matter (in this case Creighton fans) think are the keys to Nebrasketball being successful.

Bruce Chubick, who played for Nebraska but now coaches at Omaha South, started posting on the old HHC board about the time of the coaching change when the Agau recruitment was heating up and he said that he thought one of the other Central kids (I assume it was Thurman) had NBA potential. Not a lock to get to the NBA, but if things fell into place with his game, that he had potential to get there. And that comes from someone who played with a few guys who went to the NBA and played against quite a few more who made it to the show. So, take it for what it's worth, but no less an authority than Bruce Chubick thought one of the Central underclassmen (Thurman?) was better.

I haven't heard this from anyone. Agau had top tier D1 offers from tons of schools before the end of his freshman year. Thurman is a junior and his only offer to date is from UNO.
