We have zero room for error.  Unfortunately we made more than our share...hard to overcome.

Our turnovers led to breakout baskets.  The free-throw differential was unbelievable.  Their defense concentrated successfully on shutting down Tominaga and Sam G.

We fought for awhile.  That was nice.  Sam Hoiberg played well.

It's hard to be pissed. More just resigned to our fate this year.  Guys played hard, but they just make critical mistakes or aren't able  to keep up because of their ability.  And our leaders, now that the support crew is gone, make way too many mistakes to get us over the hump.

I'm always an optimist, but I don't see any more wins unless guys play way above their norm.  There will hopefully be a game where SG and DW don't have turnovers, and we make free throws like MD did today (24-26) and we will win.

Ugh. Tough to break down a game where we never really seemed to be in it after midway through the first half.

Live ball turnovers that led to easy buckets were killers again. Then again, our half court defense isn't great anymore, either, so maybe the turnovers don't matter all that much.

We have a few guys who are really fighting it on both ends, which made our foul trouble in the first half especially difficult to overcome, as the guys who are fighting it had to play a bit more. Went from 1 down with 8 minutes to go to 12 down just before half. Basically, game over.

Would've been a complete disaster without Sam Hoiberg's play. The fact that Keisei had a career night vs NW and we got blown out, and we follow that up with a career game from Hoiberg and we get blown out again tells me the worst is probably yet to come. Can't really count on different guys having career nights to boost our offense the rest of the season. Tuesday might be a hide-the-women-and-children night as Illinois was a horrible matchup for us with Gary & Bandoumel available.

Silver lining - Vegas' algorithms don't appear to have caught up to our injuries yet, so at least there's money to be made.

FT at Half, Maryland 13-13, Nebraska 0-1

I just finished rewatching the first half and probably the worst call out of the lot was the flop call against Maryland where they missed Scott getting conked in the head by Wilcher.

    Notes from UNL

*-Sam Hoiberg had a career high for the second straight game with 15 points off the bench, including 3-3 3-pointers in a career high 26 minutes. Hoiberg entered the game with 13 points all season.
*-With Hoiberg’s performance on Saturday, Nebraska now had had 10 players post double-figure games this season, including freshmen in consecutive games (Dawson-NW; Hoiberg-MD)
*-Derrick Walker reached double figures for the team-high 13th time with 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Walker also led NU with eight rebounds.
*-With his eight rebounds today, Derrick Walker went over 500 for his career. He now has 504 career rebounds.
*-Nebraska shot 53.3 percent from the floor today, the seventh time Nebraska shot 50 percent from the field this season. It was also NU’s best shooting night in Big Ten play (previous high was .508 at Minnesota). NU was 6-0 this season when shooting at least 50 percent.
Maryland set Nebraska opponent highs for free throws made (24), attempted (26) and percentage (.923) Prior to today, the opponent high in free throws made this year against Nebraska was 16 at Purdue. Prior to the game, opponents were shooting .658 from the line against Nebraska in 2022-23.

We actually outshot Maryland in this one....we just got outvolumed.

Not sure if it was Wilcher picking up the T but that's the point where it went from ballpark to blowout

Not Denim Dawson, it was fellow FROSH Jamarques Lawrence who had double figures (12) against NW.
