Sometimes these things take time. I suspect she'll do what is necessary to get back on the court. Who could stand not playing with this team...so much fun.

Havers had a great game.  Earned her first double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Congrats for a game well played.  Clark went 5 for 11 on three point shots.  Great to see her get her touch back especially with the injury to Simon.  Great to see 43 score 14 points.  If 43 and Jess can become a double scoring threat, they will be hard to stop. 

 

Washington must have done something serious.  It will be a wasted season for her if she doesn't get in on some of these easier teams.

Can Simon even get a medical red shirt for a non sport injury? If Washington is still in the dog house when Ostrander starts maybe she will pick up Washington's minutes. Does anybody know what the injury to Esther was?

Wow! Losing Simon hurts, I imagine that is a season ending injury. Probably has played too many games to Redshirt.

Yes, it does hurt not having Simon learning on the court.

I know all injuries/broken bones are different, but generally bones take 6 weeks to heal and if you add a couple more weeks for being a major joint it would be 8 weeks- that would be the 1st of February. At least it is her non shooting elbow.

With Simon out for awhile besides Cincore's minutes going up we will see a little more of Emily.  She can shoot the 3 but also has a nice command of the floor.  With backup posts playing so well may see a little of Rachel B. at the 3 position for defense when required.

She missed Nebraska’s win over NC State with a concussion.

She's finally gotten comfortable enough to start shooting, and not worrying about her place on the team. (She & Connie kind of said that in the videos:)

I thought it was really hard to gauge just how well the Huskers played because we played a really bad team. The damage was done by our big girls as evidence by the huge stat lines of our 4 regular post players. The game plan was get the ball inside Evansville doesn't have the size to stop anything we threw at them. Rachel T didn't score but as bad as Evansville was she didn't have to. What they shoot like 6 or 7 air-balls? We did to them what we were supposed to do to under-matched teams.

 

Good to see Kyndal nailing some treys. Allie with a big double/double and Little Emily Wood making her presence known tonight hitting a triple and dishing out 5 dimes in 23 minutes. Quite the change in atmosphere at PBA after the last time we were in there. Saw quite a few leaving at the end of the 3rd quarter.

 

Natalie and Darrian go home this weekend, hope to God Darrian gets to see some time on the court especially since her whole family will be in attendance.

one of the best plays of the evening (imo): the bounce pass from emily wood to rb43 on the running break. just a real good pass and maybe even a better catch for the layup. shows me just how good the hands of rb43 are. in fact, woody had 2 or 3 bounce passes that were really impressive. 

 

let's hope simon is a fast healer.

Speculation elsewhere on this board that Maddie Simon may be able to get a Medical RS.  Sure hope they are right!

The deal is we don't know how long she is out .  I asked Julie Tuttle, the team trainer how long?  She said you will just have to go by what you hear in the media, on the Internet and the person in the seat behind you.  They all may or may not know what they are talking about.  I have heard anywhere from three to eight weeks.  If it's three she will be back, if its eight then who knows.  We will just have to see how it plays out.

Yori almost always, won't tell much about injuries, or suspensions, or anything related the players. She just chooses not too.

 

Some coaches do, some do not..not just at UNL, but anywhere.

 

Watching the game, Maddies arm was in a sling. So it wasn't her leg/foot for sure. That's all we'll hear about it.

 

In Yori's interview she said Maddie had an elbow injury, and she didn't know when Maddie will be OK. That's all you'll get out of Yori or her staff. So we'll just have to wait.
