what surprised people the most about the team v Kearny?

Curious to hear from those that went to the game about what surprised them about some of the kids since a lot of new faces played.

I was surprised we didn't shoot more 3 pointers. But we didn't need to yesterday.

My surprise is that Jess is faster than she looked on film and that Clark is the real deal like some were saying on here.

They both individually, will probably have more positive impact than previously expected. We knew about Jess, but Clark may be huge as we go along. She'll help free up other guards on offense, let alone all her other floor play, steals, fast breaks, etc..... and she can shoot the 3.

 

3's just weren't the focus the first time out. Get the ball into the bigs.

 

Remember how Romeo's 3's held us up late last year? Now it will be at least three that can do the "3" thing.

Kearney didn't have much size.  Hard to say what the impact is from that exhibition.

The impact is that 3 of our main players all seem to have recouped from major injuries.

It looked like we aren't going to be as reliant on 3's as last year.  Big's were our weak link last year (and even before.....in Connie's own words).

 

We should be more balanced and UNK game was evidence of that...even if we didn't shoot many threes. 2/3's of our points were in the paint.

 

Granted it was UNK but our shooting percentage was over 53%....good for a first game. Remember last year when we were shooting in the 30% range? We lost games then. Had to shoot to many long shots.

 

I guess it's obvious...we'll be playing a different style offense this year to take advantage of our strengths..
