big red22 Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Differences this year compared to last - No Rey Gallegos - No Craig Smith - Benny starting instead of coming off the bench - Biggs departure sparking the team to come together - Molinari takes over for Craig Smith - Pitchford asked to play more down low, because lack of post players(Could be worse next year) - Pressure to live up to pre-season hype - Moses Abraham - Provided minimal help this year - Leslie Smiths injury - Tarin Smith Excluded: Fuller and Hammond, because they have not played enough to play into the crappy season So somewhere in that list of differences is where the problem lies. If I had to lean on anything here it would be Molinari. Our guys are not relating with his philosophy, and are not buying in. The other ones that I believe are tying in to what we see this year is - No Post presence. Leslie is there now, but obviously he is not what he was last year - Norm's "Hot Potato" = Lack of confidence = Lack of Motivation - Can't buy 3 point baskets Quote
hskr4life Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Personally I think people put to much emphasis on the Molinari and our problems. Molinari was brought in to coach defense and really get a sold D going. For the most part, we have had a pretty good defense and at times that has kept us in games that could have turned out like Sunday. The way some people make it sound is that Molinari is coaching us not to score. That is ridiculous IMO. Could of defensive focus have something to do with it? Yes it could, but is it everything or a BIG problem? IMO NO ladyhusker and jaimes2000 2 Quote

HuskerFever Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Differences this year compared to last You forgot one thing: Last year we had nothing to lose; this year we had everything to lose. Last year nobody was ready for us; this year everybody was ready for us. Noah121, ladyhusker and jaimes2000 3 Quote
PeltzFan12 Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 The scout team last year was vastly different than this year. Locker room had leadership last year with Peltz and Reyes more than people think. Peltz barely played but the young guys leaned on him in the locker room, and he was a bulldog in practices...didn't let guys slack either. And I agree, higher expectations = higher pressure, and some guys didn't handle it as well. ladyhusker and bobcat402 2 Quote
lang Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Which brings up the fact that we could use some quality walk ons for next year. I know we have J Trueblood coming but we could sure use a Kye type big man who's got some size and is a decent athlete. Quote
