but if he doesn't...

Then we're all fooked!

Yeah can almost see myself after being shot in bed by a jealous husband, me at the ripe old age of 95,  and with my last breath thinking 46 pages for Matthew Atewe.  If there had only been 42 I would have been done here and crawled out on the roof before her husband got home to catch us. B)

Here is a message board thread from an Auburn site: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=6&f=2775&t=11409770&p=1

The thread ultimately goes off on a bunny trail, but it provides some interesting Nebraska and Atewe comments and discussion nonetheless.

I actually really enjoyed reading how their fans were all caught up in how bitchin' our facilties are.  I had actually never seen that Vimeo video of the tour of the Hendricks Center that one of their fans found and posted on their board.  And it struck me how fans down in Auburn are jealous out of their minds about how fandamntastic our basketball facilities are and how they don't think they can compete with us in the facilities arms race.

Fans.  In Auburn.  Shock and Awe over OUR cool sh!t.

That just amazes me.  They don't think they can win the recruiting battle with us -- with frickin US! -- over Atewe because their locker room is the size of a large closet.  And they apparently forgot to finish their arena somehow.  We obliterate Auburn basketball when it comes to facilities bling.

I was honestly surprised by their reaction.  I had no idea other team's facilities are that far behind.  I'd always been lead to believe that everyone else had it so much better.  Until we upgraded.

No wonder Coach Miles has made the comments he's made about recruiting with our facilities. Because they blow the competition away.

That is Jerry Evans, junior guard for Nevada he is chatting with.

Well poop so Nevada's guys are all fam too...
Well, if you look closely, Evans refers to Atewe as fam but Atewe never calls Evans "fam" in any of his tweets back. Nebraska lock. :)

Whew! I missed that. Thank God. We're still good. He better not be going around calling the other guys fam...

LOL. It's hilarious that we're trying to decipher anything we can out of a tweet from a two-star recruit!

@holdmyown323: @MatthewAtewe41 better figure it out fam. Pros n cons for each school !

That's true.  Pros and cons for each school.  Let's make a list.

Pros for Nevada:

^  The school name starts with an "N."

Cons for Nevada:

^  It's in Nevada.  Where there's mostly dead stuff.

^  They've sucked badly two of the last three years.  And they're not trending upward.

^  They have 6 guys on their roster 6'8" or taller who are underclassmen.  Oooh.  Lots of competition at the big spot.  M'mm.

Pros for Charlotte:

^  Charlotte is a nice girl's name.

Cons for Charlotte:

^  Have you been there?  Nuff said.

^  Do they have a conference affiliation?

^  We previously talked about all the strippers.  And the kudzu.

^  Don't go there, it sucks.

Pros for Auburn:

^  Charles Barkley went there and he's kinda funny

Cons for Auburn:

^  Charles Barkley never hangs out there because he knows how badly they've sucked since he left there in the 80s.

^  Their locker room is the size of a large closet.

^  They forgot to finish their arena.  (How the hell do you forget to finish an arena?  Seriously?)

Pros for Nebraska:

*  Immediate playing time.

*  Great Coach

*  Have you seen the Hendricks Center?  OMG, you gotta see the Hendricks Center

*  They're building a new arena. You'll be the first recruiting class to open that new arena.

*  We have other guys from other countries.  Like Tai Webster from New Zealand.  And David Rivers from Arkansas.

*  Great fans.  Are you kidding me?  The BEST fans.  Like, y'know, some guy named Norm:)

*  Fabulous academic support.  The BEST academic support.

*  We play in a great basketball conference.  The BEST basketball conference.

Cons for Nebraska:

*  Sometimes we maybe push ourselves too hard.  Trying to be the best we can be.

*  We Nebraskans are friendly to a fault.  Sometimes almost too friendly.

*  Once in a great while, some of the fans have been known to overindulge in adult beverages.

*  It's adjacent to Kansas.  Geography, right?  Nothing we can do about it but sort of shrug our shoulders and make due.

*  Our facilities are almost too good.  You get spoiled.  An embarrassment of riches when you compare them to, say, Auburn.  Or Charlotte or Nevada.  Really an unfair comparison and I'm sorry I even had to bring it up.

So, there you have it.  Tough decision.  Hope this helps bring clarity to the decision-making process.

Best,

Norm

If this were a job interview you would nail it, because those are the best "cons" that I have ever heard!

Have you been to Charlotte recently? Charlotte is a beautiful city and they just redid their campus basically from scratch in the last 10 years, including a brand new football stadium for the team that is starting next year. There's over a million people in Charlotte and the surrounding area, the city of Charlotte is near the population of Nebraska. Its in the south with great weather and loads of beautiful women. Charlotte is a much better city of an 18 year old than Lincoln
