hhcmatt Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 0-2 in the conference dropping games to OSU, Minn When they take on the Huskers at home they'll have been off 7 days AJ Hammons personal best against the Huskers is 14 points. Any chance he doesn't beat that? Worst FT shooting team in the B1G 10 Quote

throwback Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Have seen the Boilers just a couple of times this year, but based on last couple of years and this year PU seems like a team that has very inconsistent effort levels from game to game, and plays down to the level of its opponent quite often. They seem to have plenty of talent and when Hammons is motivated, he's a nightmare for a team like us that's undersized. Because their fan base thinks they should be much better than they are, I'm sure their team has been hearing all week about how they're underperforming, etc., so I'd guess they'll be motivated to play tomorrow. And I think we've unfortunately run out of road dates on the schedule where the students are out on break. I think if we can start quick though, their fans may really start grumbling / turn on them a bit, so hopefully we can shake off Thursday's tough finish & play well early. Quote
nuled2dance Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Will they have that big a crowd on a Sunday there? Maybe a church/schools out/NFL playoffs/weather will keep crowd down Quote
hskr4life Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Looking at their KenPom... their best win was @West Virgina... other than that a pretty cupcake schedule. On the road will be tough, but this is one that is not impossible. Quote

On the road will be tough, but this is one that is not impossible. Agreed - certainly less daunting than any of the other four true road games NU has played so far this season ... speaking of, I can't imagine many teams, if any, have played four Top 25 KenPom teams on the road already. There's quite a few teams in the country that would have gone 0-4 against that group on their home floors. Quote
throwback Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 For the rematch Sunday NU is a -6 home favorite vs Purdue according to the early line - if that holds, that would be the biggest favorite NU has been since joining the B1G - NU is 11-2 vs the spread in B1G games so far this season.
