hhcmatt Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 Of all the sort of traditions we have for this board (post game chat, game thread, etc) it's somewhat odd that we don't have a thread for the upcoming opponent. Let's start that. Some getting you started reading http://www.stateoftheu.com/2013/11/4/5064358/sotu-season-preview-hurricanes-hoops-2013-14 http://www.stateoftheu.com/2013/12/1/5163566/resilient-hurricanes-hoops-defeat-asu-60-57 http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/6874 http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/10/29/3717548/new-look-miami-hurricanes-mens.html At first glance they're a team trying to figure themselves out after losing 90% of their scoring from last year. Jim Larranaga plays at a fairly slow tempo and this team is no different. So far Miami has been pretty awful shooting the ball and while they don't have a ton of height, they have a couple of guys who could punish us in the paint. Quote

a0t0w0 Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 Slightly off topic... I stayed at the Marriott in the haymarket last night and noticed they had a "Miami Men's Basketball" placard up by one of the meeting rooms. Are they already in town? I hope a long lay over in Lincoln puts them off their game. Quote

a0t0w0 Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 Ah, didn't check their schedule- that would make sense. Seems like a painfully long stay. Quote

Yeah they've been on the road since last Wednesday, so hopefully they are tired and ready to get back to the beach on Wednesday night. a0t0w0 1 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Coach confirmed Miami is in town and said they were eating at downtown Misty's tonight. If my last experience there is any guide, that means they waited half an hour for the waitress to bring them water and another half an hour to take their order. Should give them a great impression of the dining scene in Lincoln. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Miami Hoops Message Board (Scout) They're giving us more credit than I anticipated. Their fans seem to consider us pretty evenly matched with tie possibly going to the home team. That's not good locker room bulletin board material. Quote
