3 for CU finally puts them in front

CU 44, GW 42, 6:16 to play

Haven't seen a lot of this game, but GW appears to be a God-awful mess - shooting 21% in 2nd half - CU definitely playing down to the level of its competition today

Dougie still with just 7 pts, 2-12 on FG - GW doesn't seem to be doubling him or anything strange, just straight up man

GW is a disaster this half on offense & they just let CU get two easy lay-ups after wide open drives from the top of the lane

CU 51, GW 48, 2:42 to play

That foul looked like one of those offensive player arm bars/push offs that they've been calling really close this season - not sure I'd have called it, looked like defensive player may have been holding him first - CU in deep trouble now down by 5 with 10.7 sec left - timeout CU

GW 60, CU 53 - final

Gotta think that's going to be a horrible loss for CU down the road, especially after Marquette beat GW easily Friday - GW did not appear to be a very good team today, at least during the parts of the game I saw

Way to hurt NU's RPI, CU  :P

Can't figure out Creighton right now.

Next Sunday's game should be very interesting. Here's hoping Miles takes this game a little more seriously than Doc did and studies some film from these last 2 Creighton losses to see how they can be beat. They have Doug, and if Wragge is "on" he is a problem. Other than that, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to match up with them body for body. Their "big newcomer" Devin Brooks looked horrible to me, out of control and making really dumb mistakes all over the court.

They typically don't get to the line nor pull in a lot of offensive rebounds so if those 3s aren't falling they're going to lose....most nights they do fall though.  That's how you beat ASU by 20+

We are going to want Shields, Petteway, Webster, and Biggs attacking the glass all night because they have no one to block them.  As long as we're controlled enough to not draw offensive charges we're going to get them in foul trouble and pick up easy points on the line.

This will be key... we make those suckers against Creighton, and we got a chance to come out of Omaha with a W

You probably didn't see the ASU game. Brooks looked pretty skilled in that game. I didn't see the GW game, so I can't comment on his play in that one.

Creighton is a dangerous and very skilled basketball team. They play well together and are a veteran group. If the team that I saw at Pinnacle Saturday shows up in Omaha, we could lose by 30. If they go out there angry, with a chip on their shoulder, and play inspired team basketball, it could get interesting.

Definitely.  I'm picking Creighton to win the game though unlike last year we have a puncher's chance.

CU is certainly better than what they showed in this tournament, but if Nebraska plays well, they'll have a shot Sunday - haven't been able to say that with a straight face for a while. ;) Ultimately, I don't think Nebraska is mature enough yet for a game like this, so a veteran-led CU team likely wins, but the gap is closing in a hurry.

On the plus side for CU, San Diego St did beat Marquette by 8 Sunday, so that has to make blue fans feel a little better.

With the way Dougie struggled vs GW, blue fans got a taste of what their team may look like offensively in 2014-15 and beyond when they have to rely on others - plus there will be no Wragge & Gibbs. Not pretty.

Mike Peltz will volunteer as tribute.

If Nebraska chokes in this game, it will be on our terms
