nustudent Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 Just an amazing night. The arena, the pre-game (sans Bon Jovi), everything about the atmosphere of the arena (not the concessions). Amazing. How Tim Miles can completely change the outlook of this program in less than 18 months. Amazing. How we beat a Sweet 16 team, without 2 of our top 3 guards, by 24 points....Amazing. For the first time in a long long while...let's say about 15 years....we actually have something tangible to make us believe. None of this trying to convince ourselves stuff....there are real reasons for hope. I kept waiting for the bubble to burst. Everything seemed so perfect since the day Miles started. And this night not only met, but exceeded the expectations. Still think we are missing another big guy from really being a special team this year....but this team is going to be real fun to watch and real competitive runsoastowin, hhcmatt and tcp 3 Quote

nustudent Posted November 9, 2013 Author Report Posted November 9, 2013 i'm actually happy for you, nustudent. kinda fun being in the glass half full camp again, yes? It's fun because the glass actually is half full again and not a case of us just trying to see it that way to make ourselves feel better. Miles' midas touch continues to just be shocking to me. Cybrrmonky Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 Hope Miles loves it here as much as we love him here. The guy is a flat out winner & would love to see where this program will be 5-6 years from now under his guidance. Its going to be a fun ride this year. Best looking Nebraska basketball team since Lue, Belcher, Florence, ect. Except this team is exceptionally well coached. you can see guys already getting better under Miles. Heck just since the opening scrimmage this year guys look way better. Quote
Swan88 Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 On the walk to the car after Friday night's game, couldn't help wondering, "Is this for real?" Quote
Handy Johnson Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 It's amazing how different a team looks when you have more than 1 or 2 guys who can actually shoot the basketball. This of course withOUT Biggs & Gallegos. I wouldn't read too much into Fuller & Hawkins not playing, but with the return of the other two, you would assume one if not BOTH might redshirt. I had high hopes going in, but Friday night flat out lived up to the hype. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 Looking back on things, and I know I've said it before and hate to beat the same drum, but it was a very smart thing to sign those two transfers who sat out Miles' first season. They make up for the departed senior class and virtually assure that we will progress from where we were when he took over. Those two guys who sat out buffer the loss of Ubel and Talley and add a level of athleticism we haven't had around here in a very long time. Silverbacked1 1 Quote

Assuming we don't fill our scholarship with high school kids look for more transfers....guys who just need a change of scenery or a redo obviously can be pretty valuable Quote

We have gone so long grasping at small moral victories that to see competence, let alone an utterly dominant performance was a sight to behold. Quote
