This takes Georgetown out of the Robinson running?

I don't think so. Not entirely anyway. This gives them a PG, wing, and 2 forwards for 2014. They still don't have a true big man in the class but as I said, they are one over already. It either makes it less likely that Elbert ends up there or is somewhat telling about Georgetowns opinion about where they stand with Elbert.

If Georgetown still wants Elbert I think they'll get him.

Our facilities are great but at the end of the day, they are still "Big Man U" and one of the best schools in the country.....and we don't have a trophy case or a former player in the NBA.

I heard through the grapevine that we now crept into the lead for Elbert.  These things continue to ebb and flow, but perhaps this signing provides a bit of daylight for us...

Hope that is the case. NU needs a big guy the caliber of Elbert in the B1G.

Pieces to the puzzle:

Big-time big man

Lights out perimeter shooter

Someone who can break his defender down off the dribble and get to the rim and finish

A top-shelf point who can make it all happen

It is entirely possible that adding Elbert to the mix would be the last piece of the puzzle.

Nick Fuller could certainly be that perimeter shooter we need.

Word is that Petteway fits the penetrator bill

And Tai Webster could be the point guard that puts it all together.
