NU just won its season opener 7-1 over #6 Tennessee - Bahl tossed a complete game and hit a 2-run HR.

 

Incredible start to the season, especially beating one of the top pitchers in the country from UT.

Nebraska defeated Southern Miss, 12-2, after 5 inn.

Nebraska defeated Bethune Cookman 9-1 with new pitcher Hannah Camenzind pitching 4 inn. (of the 5 inn. in the nightcap) to get her 1st win for the Big Red. GBR

Heck of a start and that allows Bahl to be good to go for today and tomorrow.

The NU v. Texas Tech game this afternoon will be televised on the MLB Network. I believe the telecast starts at 3:00 pm Central.

Ouch.  Tough loss.  Blew the lead and made an error allowing tying and winning runs...

Not to mention a couple of additional misplayed infield grounders that led to the 4-run 6th inning.

I agree. Watching those last two innings gave me a headache!

3-2 is a good start considering the field they were in, but after beating the Vols, I'm sure they were hoping to do better. That Tech loss was the killer, as Tech didn't throw their ace and Bahl threw for NU. Needed that one. 

 

Still not bad for a northern team to have a 3-2 (almost 4-1) start against 2 SEC teams and 3 other southern teams on the opening weekend. Unfortunately, like baseball, there's just not much margin for error for a northern team. 4-1 would've been really nice.

And the Huskers hit 10 homeruns today. I suppose Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and New Mexico State, respectively, were no match for the Big Red.

Truly think it was a bit of a fluke we lost that many last weekend. We have the bats and the arms. Have to learn how to win now.

Softball and baseball teams North of the Mason-Dixon line ride the up and down nature of a roller-coaster during early season games.  We simply do not have the luxury of an abundance of outdoor practice time.
