We are not getting the point guard production/big man production we need.  My starting line-up would be:

Brice Williams -- point guard

Connor Essegian -- shooting guard

Juwan Gary -- small forward

Berke Buyuktuncel -- power forward

Andrew Morgan -- center

I would like to see Gavin Griffiths get a few minutes each half.  He has potential to help us with perimeter shooting.

Worster, Meah, Ulis, and Hoiberg come off the bench.

I wouldn't mind getting Gavin some minutes. We were very much talking about how his D is a liability, but that was when the rest of the team was playing lockdown, won't let you score more than 65 points D. Now, with the majority of players struggling on that end of the floor, at least he might provide some space and another shooter on the other end.

I'm with you. Even though Brice's turnover numbers this season are high, our best basketball last year was played with him running PG. Brice was scoring at an elite level last year functioning as our PG. He has become a stationary object on offense lately when we have the ball. He's being blanketed by opponents and isn't doing a whole lot without the ball.

I am kinda done with this season because I am so disappointed in the product we are putting on the floor, the coaching, the lack of true support from 1890, etc...

But call me crazy, I would start:

1. Bryce

2. Sam

3. Essegian

4. Juwan

5. Berke/Morgan (whoever is playing better)

Defense decides if you win games, offense decides by how much. What players you play in your normal rotation at P5, Division 1 basketball, shouldn't have a "massive" impact on your defense - that is - if you have an actual program and a recruiting philosophy.

Yeah I think so.  Meah needs to be a changeup.

I'd go with Berke since he can hit a three.  Spread the floor early.

I'm totally on board with this. It's almost time to start throwing something at the wall to see if it sticks. I'd remove Ulis and Meah minutes and give them to Gavin. Shorten the rotation. USC basically played 7 guys and one of them only got 9 minutes.

Think about how last year, Tominaga, Wilcher, Williams, Mast and to some extent Lawrence were all 3-point weapons that opponents had to account for. 5 guys. Gary (30.6%) was someone opponents were fine with shooting.

This year it's Essegian and Williams. 2 guys. Berke (32.6%) and Gary (27.5%) our opponents are fine with shooting. Sam doesn't even average 1 attempt a game.

It's a disaster really that Fred didn't find enough shooters after that being a strength of ours last year. We made 10+ 3s 16(!) times last year. We've done it only 3 times this year, all against awful teams. Fred thought this team's ability to get to the free throw line would offset that, but now in conference play we aren't getting fouled as much.

They surely counted on Gavin to be one of those guys and probably figured at least one or two of Juwan/Worster/Ulis/Morgan/Berke would become a legitimate outside threat. However, they're 0/6.

Gavin isn’t very strong with the ball and his in game turnovers that led to run outs were a main reason why he didn’t see time - and he couldn’t hit his threes.
seems like a ton of the load is on Brice and Juwan and it looks like they are both fighting through fatigue at times

Not to mention he gets easily displaced on the boards, and can't guard anyone.
