Someone posted in another topic that we might be able to get a big man that is already committed to another team if their coach gets fired after the season and that player decides to go somewhere else.

Some teams with coaches on the hot seat:

Wake, depaul, northwestern, oregon st, usc, stanford, Rice, Utah, south florida, washington st, texas tech.

Let their loss be our gain.  I like that idea.   It's kinda how we got Petteway except he exited a little before his coach got fired.  It's not like we're relying on that strategy as a main part of our recruiting efforts.  Really, it's only to try to get that last one or two guys whom we need to complete our roster.

I'll answer my own question, no.  That said, the kid out of this group that intrigues me is John Egbunu.

Agreed, CWG.

However, watch the highlights video appearing on the linked Egbunu four-star page and ask this question: "What does Egbunu do on this video that Matthew Atewe can't do (except for the one play Egbunu actually takes a dribble on his way to the basket and perhaps demonstrating more-refined basketball instincts)?"

We can all stipulate that Matthew is no four-star, but if we were to put "PREP" on Egbunu's white jersey and change his number to 12, he could be mistaken for Atewe Matthew.

I want it all...I want Atewe as well.

Nope.  I clicked on the video and got an invitation to sign up for a 7-day free trial.  And, since I'm not going to do that, I can't see the vid.  Was it anything like the one I linked?  Man, if that coach gets fired and we still have an open 'ship, this kid is definitely an intriguing prospect.  Of course, the vultures will be circling that carcass if the coach does get fired and we'll be one of 250 schools trying to get involved.  That kid is a BEAST.
