Some thoughts: (1) That's a game changer for baseball, although NIL has helped the last few years. (2) Extra scholarships are wasted for basketball and volleyball. It's hard enough getting players on the court with the current size of rosters. (3) Big schools are going to waste a lot of money on giant rosters, stockpiling kids who won't play. (4) Freshman athletes are going to face even tougher decisions on what to do. Do you want to be the 15th player on Duke's roster, or get a chance to play a ton at somewhere like UNO? (5) The extra scholarships for men's sports are going to have to even up with women. Some schools may cut  men's Olympic sports in order to balance the numbers, or else start new women's sports.

Volleyball with 18 seems excessive, but now they can play 2 liberos, I think. So, maybe more specialists on the roster...

I could see 14, maybe 15. It was bad enough for NU in this offseason (Maggie, Jurevicius, Batenhorst, Kubik) with just 12 scholarships.
