I think one of the reasons-probably the main one- they went w/ Shay against IU is that they knew they had no worse than a split and it would be difficult to get both vs. them.  On the other hand, if they could get both v. RU that would give them 3 of 4 in the pod (and a bit of revenge).  That's at least what crossed my mind when they announced who would start game 2 v. IU.  Shay bounced back and did well after the 1st inning, but the damage had been done.

That call in the Maryland game was the WORST call I have seen in my life.  The runner slides into 2nd base with 2 outs and the 2nd basemen has the ball, it gets knocked out of his glove, the fielder's hand is no where near the glove.  The ump calls him out because he was trying to transfer the ball.  It takes a run away from Maryland, as the runner was tagged before the runner crossed the plate.

I think the home plate ump is trying to one up the Maryland and Michigan 2nd base umpire.  It does NOT matter if Spencer got hit by a pitch as the pitch was ball 4.  Unless the ump decided the pitch up and in was a strike.

I hope Everitt is taking notes if I guy tries to steal and the batter swings just step into the batter's box and try to throw the ball.

At least we keep adding to the lead.  I'm worried about Cade.  If he can get us through 5 or 6, that would really help the bullpen this weekend.
