I think we can come up with some good ideas to send coach so that the team doesn't come out flat all the time.

 

Mine is have them play a 5 min simulated game before and at half time. :huh:

 

That way the bad 5 min will have already been used up by the time the real game starts. <_<

turn it into a game show. first person to score, get a block or steal, or draw a foul gets a 100 bucks if it occurs in the first two minutes.

 

or if the cash thing poses a problem, you could always have them chased onto the court by hungry lions. that'll get the adrenaline going!

In all seriousness, I do think our lack of depth plays a role.  Whether it is by design, or some sort of inner demon, the players appear to be concerned about early foul trouble or about burning up their energy early and not having anything left at the end.  Just a theory, but to me, it makes sense.

This happens a lot to teams without depth.  Subconscious worries showing through.
