Norm Peterson Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 The little article in SI Online almost made it sound like he'd never been successful anywhere. They're 1-5 this year and obviously suck with the lone win coming against a D-III team. Never lead UTEP to the NCAA tourney. And ... "Floyd was also the coach of the Bulls during Michael Jordan’s second retirement and failed to win more than 17 games in a season." So, how did he get a job in the NBA if he's sucked his whole coaching career? Quote

So, how did he get a job in the NBA if he's sucked his whole coaching career? He just rode the crest of the Johnny Orr wave right into the cushy job with the Bulls! disclaimer, it's a joke. Everyone knows Orr is a career .500 guy at ISU, the real success came after he retired. One could argue that Floyd was the real architect of that team's success. (Johnny Orr only had 20+ win seasons 5 times out of the 14 years he was there. 20 wins twice, 21 wins twice and 22 wins once while Floyd had 23, 24, 22 and 12 wins in his four years. Interestingly, Danny Nee got to 20 wins 7 times in his 14 years, but I digress...) AuroranHusker 1 Quote

He also had it rolling with USC until it was found out he was involved in paying OJ Mayo and ended up back in El Paso where he was an assistant under Don Haskins at the start of his career. Quote
