49r Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) Sad news, gotta feel for the kid. Dream season gone, like that. Edited January 17, 2017 by 49r Quote
Huskerpapa Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 Sad news for Creighton. He certainly appeared to be the team leader. That kind of a blow is hard to overcome. I hope that he has a seamless recovery! http://www.omaha.com/creighton/mens-basketball/creighton-guard-maurice-watson-out-for-season-with-torn-acl/article_2413f9e8-dcd5-11e6-8c03-33940809bcc4.html#utm_source=omaha.com&utm_campaign=%2Fnewsletter%2Fbreakingheadlines%2F&utm_medium=email&utm_content=read more Quote
AuroranHusker Posted January 18, 2017 Author Report Posted January 18, 2017 And this is why people should never be upset when a kid goes pro early in his collegiate experience.... tough loss for a really good team in eastern Omaha. Hope Mo gets mo' better real quick & in a hurry. Quote
OmahaHusker Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 I'll admit that I feel for my Bluejay friends up here in O-town. They are in full depression mode to say the least. Tough break for Mo hope he heals up and has a great career wherever he ends up playing. Quote
jimmykc Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 Proud of HHC for not filling this space with schadenfreude. Best wishes for a complete recovery. HB and OmahaHusker 2 Quote
hhcmatt Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 A bit reminiscent of Hoppen blowing out his knee his senior year. That team made it to the NCAA tourney anyway (our first). If Hoppen doesn't get injured, do we win a few more games and our first tourney game? If we do that, does Moe Iba not quit and does the Danny Nee era ever happen? Silverbacked1 Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) I still have tears in my eyes when I see that in the replay in my head. I also was sitting at home with a full leg cast ( at the time it was a full leg cast) with a torn ACL replacement while watching that game.I knew as soon as he did it. And eerily similar to Watson's injury in that Hoppen actually came back into the game. It was at Colorado. He tried to post a guy up, leg gave out, and it was over.
