Michigan State's Aerial Powers will forego her senior season and declare for the 2016 WNBA Draft.

"This was not an easy decision to make, but I want to thank Coach Merchant and all the coaches and support staff, my family and all of my teammates. I have enjoyed every second of being a Spartan, but now I look forward to the next chapter of my basketball career. Spartan nation will always hold a special place in my heart," Powers said.

I'm happy for her...  I'm more happy for Husker BB...  I wish all of MD & OSU would declare too.

Money is way overrated.

Ya think UConn wins tonight????  :D

wonder if she is set to graduate also? she was a redshirt jr. if not, probably pretty close to getting the degree anyway. either way, her decision and that's fine. i would have been more surprised if she stayed.

Yea, U Conn...no doubt. And MSU will be a different team next year without Powers, and I think their big post player is a Sr. too.

Sure UConn can shoot and score, very impressive.....they keep the offensive floor spacing well spread out.....but I'm maybe most impressed with their pressure defense. Not to be a sexist pig, but they look and play ball more like the men's game, than most other women's teams.

It's all in their scheme, and their feet and movement. Closely guard, but without the foul. You notice how they almost never foul the ball handler/guards out front, but put lots of pressure on the guards. Don't try to steal the ball from ball handler, rather the scheme is set up to intercept the pass, by interfering with the ball handler.

Their defense is as important to them as their offense...to Geno anyway.  ...and it works.

Michigan St picks up 6'-4" Notre Dame transfer Taya Reimer. She will graduate this summer from ND and will have 2 years to play for the Spartans starting next season.

Reimer committed to the Spartans on Sunday, giving the program a major addition to its roster for next season.

"I was definitely really interested in Michigan State from the get-go," Reimer told the State Journal on Sunday evening. "Just being around the staff and being around all of the girls this weekend just kind of reaffirmed that. It made me realize how much I wanted to be a Spartan.
