it appears her father (who is a coach) is going to do all he can to help his daughter recover from this terrible injury. i guess at least part of the answer lies in just how much interest she showed in nebraska. difficult question---but, i am guessing coach won't bail on her, but, definitely something to monitor during recovery. bad enough to have acl injury, then to have another ligament torn---tough break for the gal. wish her nothing but the best.
-
i will guess that to start the season, it will be the following: shepard (if she is good to go) havers theriot romeo cincore rb43, washington, clark, simon get most of the bench minutes.
-
We'll also have 6-3 Ostrander in the post...for rebounding more than likely. I understand she was practicing with basketball team before they left for Australia. (as well as preacticing for the volleyball team) I see she was just named as co captian of the volleyball team. if i looked at the vb schedule correctly, huskers wbb could expect 'O' to join anywhere from Dec. 5th-20th (hopefully, it will be the 20th ). she will add to what seems to be a pretty strong set of rebounders: RB43, Washington, Havers, Kalenta, and, of course, Shepard. i would be interested in looking at the total stats for the players on this trip. maybe it will be in an article, or, someone could post them.
-
huskers may have still been going on adrenaline for the first game---maybe the combo of travel, time difference, and sightseeing caught up with them for that second game.
-
yep, RB43 looks very interesting! Havers, Washington, Sheppard, and RB43 = n-i-i-i-i-i-c-e!!! gonna be so much fun to watch!
-
yes, would have been really nice if Chandler stayed---however, i really think Chandler would have faced some stiff competition. i think Huskers will be fine---even after this year. hope kansashusker is correct about Kendall Clark.
-
"The report, dated July 31 and heavily redacted in its release to the public" appears to me, school officials do have some concerns that they leave the option of a "settlement" open. will be interesting to see what the gals lawyer says after sifting through the investigation report.
-
wow, what an experience for the huskers! something they will never forget.
-
curious, will any video of these games become available to watch? (excluding some video from a fan's cellphone)
-
i believe the coach from gonzaga had mentioned she was pretty confident chandler was going to commit during her hs recruitment. in chandler's mind, the combination of the ag school and coach yori's strong basketball program lured her to nebraska---but, apparently her heart was with gonzaga all the time. ag school or not.
-
wow, i should have figured that out.
-
that's good to hear/read. the huskers are going to need that leadership and stability she provides---ever more so with the departure of smith. in one way, i kinda feel bad for rachel---knowing that this is most likely gonna be a pretty young team for her senior year. on the other hand, it could be a perfect fit for these young huskers. this may be where rachel really shines. it is what it is.
-
well, i wish her well. it is very disappointing. the longer that "homesickness" hangs on---just tough. you could see the potential, but, i had a feeling something wasn't clicking (after she came back from the injury). i had posted her offensive stats in an earlier post, and, they were pretty surprising. a bit shocking, really. someone could probably correct me, but, it seems many of her shots she did take were missing badly too. i guess now we may know unfortunate problem.

"The main challenge of taking this route to a Division I school is that even if you are a Division I calibre player, many schools will not consider players who have already started their university degree at another school because it can reduce their eligible playing years. The other main factor that could completely exclude this possibility is where players are paid for playing with a professional or semi-professional side during their time at an Australian university. Doing so would immediately void a player’s amateur status and disqualify the player from gaining eligibility with any NCAA school. Luckily for Edwards, she had not been paid by the Waves so the door to securing a U.S. College scholarship was still open." anyone know if she will have eligibility reduced?---(per the first line)

i'd be a bit surprised if she doesn't break the record three quarters of the way through the ooc---if not a little sooner. that will allow her to add quite a bit to that record total.
-
i hope chandler smith has picked up her game, especially on the offensive side of the ball. didn't she come in known more for her offensive skills? anyway, watching her play as a freshman, her court presence was pretty impressive---showing quite a bit of potential. i hope she worked hard during the off season---imo, she may just have her hands full with competition from the newcomers. was just curious if there is any word on her progress. btw, a big thanks to dlrrk for the info! looking forward to watching rachel compete as a husker!!!
-
not sure why they would have her redshirt. she helps fill a pretty big need for the gophers. they do have a 6' 5" gal, but, comments i have seen say she is pretty raw.
-
well, not sure that will do much for the rpi---just at a glance, see chances of 1 or 2 L's. they should come out of ooc smelling pretty good (record wise).
-
pictures can be very deceiving. angle, subject(s) placement, etc. but, no doubt jess has the height advantage.

great news for Emily!!! congratulations!

uuuughhhh, what a headache. this may turn out to be one of those cases where you can say "the truth lies somewhere in the middle". "It is interesting to read the letters written by the parents of the two quitters " Zing! (well, not a computer whiz, so, don't know why the quote turned small when added to reply)

would that be blackburn on right end?
