  1. I'm pretty sure the metric predictions expected us to beat Minnesota. We were 7-1 and they hadn't done much at that point. To answer your questions. A. Losing a close hard fought game when you are only predicted to be a 1-2 point favorite, is not cause for immediate concern. Now, perhaps the way you lost might be, but the fact that you lost is not. B. With that being said, if it begins to occur more than once or twice, or considerably more than 50% of the time, then it does become a concern. Essentially, a 1-2 point spread is going to be a pretty even matchup. You should be going 50% in those types of games. C. My point was also never about concern over a singular loss. And I said as much. My point was....I don't think it's real accurate to say that oddsmakers expected us to be 1-3 at this point.
  2. Vegas had us favored by 3 against Minnesota and the line closed at 2 over Iowa. We opened as a favorite against Maryland and the line rolled to Maryland -2.5. And again....if we're favored, even by a point or two, it would mean that we are not expected to be 1-3. If you are referring to metrics...I can't tell you specifically on Maryland or Iowa, but I'm pretty sure we were expected to beat Minnesota.
  3. Pretty sure most metrics had us beating Minnesota. Don't think the sky is falling that we are 1-3 (our overall record is right where I expected it to be). In fact, I expected it after we choked in Minneapolis. But saying 1-3 was expected isn't accurate either.
  4. Weren't we favored in 3 of the 4 games?
  5. Won't disagree that they were closer to PFs than a traditional center. Main point here...Jordy isn't/wasn't good. I think Borchardt is better than Jordy. But we needed to have someone better than Borchardt to take those minutes.
  6. Absolutely. Jacobson too.
  7. A. I wanted Miles fired after year 5. That being said, I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. Would much rather see us win and have him earn the extension B. If he is fired after this year, it's warranted. Because that very likely means we missed the NCAA, again. And there is no excuse for that with the talent we have on this team. C. If he is fired, it isn't a guarantee that those players are gone, only possibilities. D. Yes, it's worth the risk of losing those players. If Miles can't win with this team, there's not much reason to believe he's going to win with any other. Which means, you have to cut ties. And a good coach is worth more than 1 recruit.
  8. I'll give you he was an extra 5 fouls. Unfortunately, that happens in about 7 minutes of playing time for Jordy.
  9. We dont havea legit 5 with Jordy
  10. I'd take both back without blinking an eye. Our post play has been a joke and will be even worse next year. I like our guards and wings a lot. If Roby comes back, having him as a stretch 4, alongside a legit 5, intrigues me quite a bit.
  11. I'd be okay with 3-3. 4-2 really really helps our cause though and sets us up nicely. It likely means it gets the Minnesota game back that we gave away as well
  12. Purdue isn't that good outside of Edwards.
  13. Not worried about minutes. These are college kids. There have been plenty of Duke/Kansas type teams that don't go more than 6 or 7 deep. Far bigger concern is who fills a role if there is foul trouble. Getting Harris back will help reduce a few of those minutes too.
  14. Someone make sure Tom is never late to another meeting ever again.
  15. The last 23 minutes of that game was an ass kicking. Okie St isnt very good but credit again to us for taking care of business. Tom Allen is growing up.
  16. Far less criticism ON THIS BOARD. Don't think that's the universal opinion. And as far as the odds...unless my memory is off on timing...we were still waiting on player announcements. So I think there was still alot up in the air.
  17. Still think Moos was in a lose lose situation last year. If he doesn't believe in Miles and gives him a traditional extension and this year goes bad and Moos gets rid of him...that looks bad. No one is going to be defending the Moos extension then. If he does nothing or only a 1-year extension, he's criticized for not committing long term. Eichorst dug a major hole for Moos to dig himself out of. Pretty much whatever Moos did last spring was going to be criticized by some.
  18. I'll go for next year's starting 5. Assuming Roby comes back: Allen Burke Green Roby Heimann Akenten Harris Frontcourt player yet to be named Adams-Woods Frontcourt player yet to be named
  19. I would.
  20. I've seen a list or two that has him in the top 5-10
  21. If Jervay is what we all think he is (top JUCO in the country)....he's not coming off the bench.
