At N -- according to Washut

Cool! Thanks for this information, Auroran. Tom Kropp and Johnny Rodgers would be contemporaries (Tom born in 1953 and Johnny born in 1951).
-
That's an interesting combination of players: both are from Aurora, and both played college basketball in Nebraska--but not at the state school (i.e., "The University," as we used to call it back in Tom Kropp's day). Tom Kropp is among the all-time best Nebraska athletes, but he is relatively unknown.

Which one? Red Sea Scrolls isn’t reporting that.

What are the interwebs saying about Frankie Fidler?
-
Would Omaha Biliew and William Kyle III be an either/or possibility (assuming we were to have a shot at both)?
-
Ha! Yeah. And that’s what everyone said when we beat Purdue by 16 this season,

Illinois lays another egg in the Tourney. I didn’t watch the game. What happened in the second half? It’s like the reverse of our game against Illinois in the B1G Tourney. We were ahead by 15 until Illinois went into its running back style of play (but without helmets and shoulder pads), and the refs let them do it.

Everything changes. That’s a constant—which is on steroids these days. In sports, coaches and teams must adjust or fade away. That’s why the long-standing blue bloods don’t like the new way and are at risk: their old way of prevailing no longer works. And that’s one thing I love about what our new athletic director said at his introductory speech: “Today it’s NIL. Tomorrow it will be something else.”

Word on the street is that two of them are staying-with or going-to Wisconsin. I've heard no street word on the third. So . . . we had the same discussion a year ago about Chucky. Who thinks there is even a remote chance of Chucky (or another Bellevue West grad) coming to Nebraska this second time around? As to the two in the portal, they are both excellent players, and we'd love to have them. But if they don't want to come here (or if they aren't our highest priorities), there are other excellent players available. Further, it's amazing to me that a Nebraska player would go to another B1G school, instead of wanting to be the next Sam Griesel or Josiah Allick--with all the love and notoriety they have achieved across the entire state and its loyal fans.

Frankie’s visit is tomorrow: “A source confirmed to HuskerOnline that Fidler has locked in an unofficial visit to Lincoln on Thursday.”

Perhaps. But each was supposed to be a one-and-done—and both rarely saw the floor. Signing a 5 star brings with it a responsibility to use and develop that talent—like Hoiberg did with Bryce McGowens. Signing a 5 star and relegating him to the bench seems like a breach of trust of some sort for that player. And it’s likely the last time a 5 star signs on with that coach?
-
Yeah. Two examples that we recruited last year who went elsewhere and mostly rode the bench: Omaha Biliew (Iowa St.) and Simeon Wilcher (St. Johns).

Yes, it’s fake. But what if it’s true?

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 34- Texas A&M

Our game against A&M seemed a little like football with dribbling. The current game between A&M and Houston seems more like a rugby match. Refs are letting Houston hack A&M — more it seems than what was getting called as fouls by us. -

Sheesch! this has been a great year!!! we outperform our 12th place prediction. our third place finish is in a conference that is undefeated so far (except for us) in both the NCAA and the NIT first rounds. we made it to the dance. we don’t get to play a nobody at the dance and pretend we beat someone good. the last game and a half exposed our weaknesses. Fred Hoiberg and Co. will continue to improve Nebrasketball. it’s been a great—and totally unexpected—run this season. can’t wait for next year!! -
So, what were the two selection committees thinking on the two Husker v. A&M matchups? Were they focused on a story-line? Were they punking Trev in some way? Is there an insider’s or practical joke on this among athletic directors?

I need a Texas A&M scout report, pronto!

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 33- Illinois

Looks like Huskers needed to requisition some helmets and shoulder pads from the football team for today’s game. Couldn’t believe, for example, the play in the second half where Hoiberg got run over by Shannon—literally, and head-on and outside the arc—but no-blood-no-foul, I guess. This is why Illinois has been laying an egg in the tournament every year in recent times—they can’t get away with the same physicality with officials outside the B1G. Perhaps they’ll prove otherwise this time around? Also, Huskers looked gassed in the second half and didn’t have the legs to make their threes. -
