Yes. I understood that and was trying to react with a chuckle. Apparently, there is no "chuckle" emoji, and the one I chose didn't convey that sentiment. I should have stayed silent.

Sorry. I don't get the angst--at all. Would everyone feel better if we landed a five star? Then, this guy should get us excited: "Ranked No. 30 in the country by Rivals, No. 36 by ESPN, and No. 39 by ON3," "Ranked as a five-star recruit in January of 2023," and "Tabbed as the No. 1 player in the state of Connecticut by 247 Sports." Would everyone feel better if we landed someone who has already achieved highly in the B1G? Then, this guy should get us excited: "2023 Big Ten All-Freshman team honoree … Played in all 35 games, starting the final 19 games in his debut season … Averaged 11.7 points, 2.0 3-pointers per game and 27.3 minutes per game." Would everyone feel better if we landed a point guard with multiple years of Power 5 success? Then, this guy should get us excited: "Started in all 30 games in his second year," "2.61 A/TO ratio . . . ranks 2nd in the Pac-12 and 30th overall in the NCAA," and "Averaged 8.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists." Or, remember from last year when Allick committed . . . that was grounds for angst. But those grounds proved false. Edit addition: The desperation NIL money that's floating around, in these late portal days, is insane. It's not sustainable and is going to damage the teams that are doing it.

There we have it on Igor—from 10 minutes ago. But as to negativity on this board to a recent inquiry about him, here is what Washut said yesterday about Igor: “He hasn’t committed anywhere yet. Not sure what the hold up is.”
-
Do you know something, Husker? According to a Tennessee site, he hasn’t committed yet.

Eight posts by one poster in an hour’s time committed to the proposition that Huskers-are-failing!

Here’s the Washington official bio for his healthy/junior season: 2022-23 (JUNIOR): Named to Pac-12 All-Defensive Team after averaging 1.6 blocks per game which ranked in the league's top-10 ... league-leading 70.6% shooting ... Started all 31 games he played, making his first collegiate start in the opener against Weber State (11/7/22) ... then career-high 18 points against Seattle U (11/28/22) on 7-for-7 shooting, becoming the first Husky to make all seven field goal attempts in a game since Marquese Chriss in 2016 ... career-high six blocks against Cal Poly (12/13/22) ... career-high 21 points against Stanford (1/12/23) to go with 9 rebounds and 5 blocks ... career-high 12 rebounds in first career double-double at Colorado (1/19/23) ... three games with five or more blocks

He shoots better than Allick: Amos went .385 last season on 104 three-point shots--many from Tominaga range.

So . . . if we focus on the Bellevue West three, here's what we see: Chucky rejected the Huskers on multiple occasions--and now will forever be remembered as a "traitor" at two B1G universities; and Fidler and Kyle are heading to Michigan St. and UCLA, respectively--both could have been home-state heroes (like Griesel and Allick), and one has to wonder if the fans at those new universities will remember their existence more than three months after they move on. Or if we focus on the Millard North three from the same era, here's what we see: Hunter Sallis underperformed expectations at Gonzaga (he will never be remembered favorably there) but is getting close to his high expectations at Wake Forest; the one who chose Stanford, Murrell, is (presumably) getting a highly regarded degree--but had only two starts in his 2023-2024 (Senior) season; and Saint Thomas has bounced around the mid-majors but is now heading to USC for his fourth season--good for him.

Minus Chucky.

Word out of Wake Forest is that Kyle is going to the highest bidder and that UCLA has a big bag.

This usually means a commit:

According to Washut on visits: Payne's visit is off; and Hausen from Villanova will probably be visiting.
-
So . . . Washut seems to think Tennessee is the favorite. But Igor is visiting Tennessee today (and Baylor tomorrow). It’s been suggested that listing a top three (including Nebrasketball) during his visit to Tennessee is odd—and gives us hope.

Here's an entry from yesterday on an Indiana basketball message board: Yesterday at 1:11 PM edub72 said: Slow walking him. Ballo is priority

Here's a link to the prediction on Griffiths. And this is a description of him from the Rutgers official bio (he was a freshman last season). Gavin Griffiths, a 6-foot-8, 193-pound guard joins the Knightood for his first season in Piscataway. Griifiths is from the Kingswood-Oxford High School in West Hartford, Conn., Griffiths was ranked the No. 20 recruit in the country (247 Sports), marking the highest-ranked player landed in the Steve Pikiell-era and the second-highest recruit to attend RU in the modern era. Only former Rutgers guard Mike Rosario was ranked higher at the time of his recruitment (2008). Griffiths is also ranked No. 1 in the state of Connecticut by 247 Sports. Griffiths was upgraded from a four-star recruit to a five-star recruit in January of 2023.

Here's an item posted at 8:30 this morning on an Indiana website about Pharrel Payne, who visited Indiana on April 12: "Payne would be an interesting add, but it would probably come down to Ballo’s [Arizona's big] decision and the role he’s looking for."
