  1. No Runza's in Texas, so whenever I'm back in Nebraska I have to stop to get a fix!
  2. Is Shields in the dreaded "sophomore slump?"
  3. Starters are playing way too many minutes. This team will wear down soon. Lack of depth is a major concern.
  4. I'd be more concerned about the product on the floor than the product in the stands. Consistent winning will bring a "festive" atmosphere to any arena.
  5. Looking forward to seeing the team live Saturday against South Dakota. What is the secret that Creighton has of putting the collar on Jordan Hooper?
  6. I'd say we have more pressing issues than Grant Gibbs or beating Creighton next year! Let's focus on gettng better and maybe beating Arkansas State.
  7. Colors are Scarlet and Cream. I don't read black in there anywhere. Lose the black uniforms. (of course I'm an old codger!)
  8. With Simon leaving that will force Sample to help out in the post when there is foul trouble. Theriot may get run down as the season goes on as she is playing a lot of minutes. Team is very thin in the post. (no pun intended)
  9. Was it worth burning Hawkins "redshirt", or in this case, the god awful black uniforms that were worn today.
  10. Why would McDermott have to play much defense tonight? Nobody challenged him. I was tryng to figure out what we were trying to do on offense all first half, if someone knows, please tell me. Memo to Coach Miles: Burn the black uniforms.
  11. Viewing the game on TV one can conclude that the Huskers might be very tough to beat at PBA! I hope that carries over into the conference schedule. Looking forward to see a game over the holidays while back north in Nebraska.
  12. I was only able to listen to the first half. No Hooper looks to be bad news for the Huskers. Cady wasn't much of a factor tonight. However, it was at Carmichael and it will be a good developmental experience for this team. The team needs to make a statement against Utah St. and Creighton and build up some momentum, depth and confidence prior to the conference race.
  13. Creighton is no shoo-in for an NCAA bid. They will be in trouble in several Big East Road games. NU has a better chance to win than I first thought after watching the losses to George Washington and S. Diego St. If the Jays shoot the ball well, then it's probably "turn out the lights, the party's over!"
  14. Lack of depth and inside offensive post presence really hurt in this game. Wazzu had a good defensive plan and we seemed to content to fire up outside shots. Not many key offensive rebounds in the game. North Carolina could be ugly but I wouldn't write this team off. We make a few shots, we beat Wazzu. They just didn't fall.
  15. Why not stop worrying about "who" we don't have and try to develop those the "we" do have on the roster?
  16. I watched Creighton play Tulsa and I was not impressed. Huskers can win the game if they play well. By the way, UMASS is currently in the top 25. Maybe the tunnel is not so dark.
  17. The early season is to develop some players to enter conference season. I don't expect this team to beat UNC at Chapel Hill, it appears to me that every other non-conference game is winnable. Barring injury, this team will be in the thick of the B1G race this year.
  18. Unless Hawkins is going to play quality minutes every game, it might be better to redshirt him.
  19. I believe New Mexico is a decent team and will do fine in their league. UMass looked to be a nice ball club.
  20. The "zone" that was played today was pitiful. This team has only played 3 games together since Biggs and Gallegos missed the first two. Miles is still searching for a combo that will function as a unit. UMass torched New Mexico late, so maybe we played better than we give ourselves credit. People, I'm trying to find positives here!!!!
  21. I wouldn't be too anxious to take on Creighton. Who is going to stop McDermott?
  22. I don't know what to take from this game. Lack of size and no post game seems to be a glaring weakness. I thought we would defend on the perimeter better, maybe Chad Frazier is that good, 66 points in two games is impressive. No time to panic but Georgia and/or Temple will not be a cure for the problems. This tournament has probably tempered some optimism.
  23. Listened to the game, did not view so I am wondering how Ted Valentine is still a college official. Seems like he wants to be the show instead of the players.
  24. Has anyone told Jeff G. to talk a little less during the broadcast of the game I try to keep up with Matt's play by play but it's difficult to follow since Jeff is always offering analysis. He might interrupt more than Matt Davison. Please Jeff, a little less talk and let Matt C. call the game. Nice win tonight with Bama clearly trying to keep Hooper from beating them. Since 00 is gone someone has to take up that scoring slack and tonight Cady and Theriot came through.
  25. Nice win for the Huskers! I don't think Petteway will be that effective on his outside shooting every game but maybe he has improved after a year off from Tech. Too soon to tell about the team but a nice beginning. Lighten up on the Peltz criticism. He didn't do anything to hurt the team and he consistently does the dirty work, setting screens, denying cutters, picking up rebounds that often go unappreciated but are necessary for a winning team. I'm sure with Biggs and Gallegos coming back he will spend considerable time on the pines. I for one, like what he does for the team.
