That’s how I feel about the Big 12. Houston and Iowa State are for real. Outside of that, not impressed. Oklahoma looks like garbage every time I see them on tv. Baylor got absolutely manhandled by Michigan State. TCU, Texas Tech, Cinci, BYU. All overrated says the eye test.

Big opportunity for k-state to move back into the top 75 today

The only matchup I’ve seen that I wouldn’t feel good about is Clemson. But they seem to be climbing towards a 4/5 seed now.

Beating Kansas could’ve been our ticket. I remember conversations in December after that loss about what a huge missed opportunity that could end up being. That’s the reason why I said before the Purdue game this year that we HAVE to win this game. Without that win we wouldn’t have a very strong argument right now. -

Nobody thought we were in that year. I remember having zero interest on selection Sunday because it was known that we didn’t have a legit shot. It’s very different this year. -
There are still plenty of Duke basketball/Nebraska football fans out there too. It’s weird
-
I’m sure they do. Lloyd did last year for sure. At the beginning of this season when Gary couldn’t play in games, it was reported that he and Ulis were giving the starters problems in practice/scrimmages.

Yep. The Nebraska sucks sentiment has permeated the Husker football fan base for 25 years. Those people frustrated me so damn much in the Collier and Sadler years. But I almost get more frustrated with them in times like this year (and 2014, 2018) when they suddenly become basketball “fans”. Call me selfish, but I don’t think they deserve to enjoy the good times. I’d much rather talk hoops with a Jaysker than a fake Nebraska basketball fan who has no idea who Nate Johnson is.

#29 as of yesterday so our “SOR seed” would be the highest 8 seed. I do think we are much more comfortably in right now than the bracketologists are projecting. Happens every year. A team or two they think are teetering on the bubble ends up being a 7 or 8 seed. Our resume feels like that type of team right now. Still have to take care of business though. Michigan State’s SOR is #39. If the season ended today I think they’d be more bubbly in the eyes of the committee than we are, yet everyone has them as a 7 seed. I can hear Greg Gumbel’s surprise already. -

Already in the script. Looking forward to the round of 32. -

I predicted that in a preseason thread. Not sure which one. In my Athlon-style post I wrote up for my dad (he wanted to know more about our players going into the season). Pretty sure most of the post was inaccurate. Hopefully not the part about winning a tournament game(s). -

I agree. If I had to vote for a team MVP to this point in the season I’d choose Mast. We have struggled this year when he doesn’t play well, but we were much better on both ends last night when he was on the bench and the +/- confirms that. That’s a good thing going forward imo. -

Glad to see we can still win a game when Mast plays poorly. I was starting to think we go as he goes. -

That’s a jump stop and a pivot. Absolutely not a travel. -

This has a really bad feel to it. Indiana is gonna make a couple threes at some point. -

If the games stops because you’re acting like your jaw got broken in four places, it should be required that you have to come out of the game. -

All three Indiana frontcourt players have been on first round NBA draft boards at one time or another. Gary and Allick do not care. -

We have no freedom of movement off the ball when we try to cut. Hoiberg needs to point that out. If they’re gonna call touch fouls on us, call that crap on the other end too. -

Gonna need CJ to find his shot again. Now 2 for his last 16 threes. -

Indiana looks very uninspired. Now’s the time to just step on their throat. Don’t give them any hope. -

Good player. Was a stud for Tennessee last year in the tourney. Best player on the court in their game against Duke, made Filipowski look silly. The transfer portal grass isn't always greener. -

Jordan Dingle, another combo guard, could also come back for a 6th year.
