A lot of open looks and free throws missed. There are players who are balling and others that are lost. Not naming names but...

We had plenty of open looks, "shooters" have to make shots. Seems simple...right?

Somehow we win this one. Merry Christmas. Huskers win 75-70

Good on defense, bad on offense, yada-yada-yada. Same crap...sort of...sort of not. I will not bash specific players, but those specific players need to pull their collective heads out of their asses and ball. Open looks have to be hit. Free throws have to be made. Good lord.

We have learned that despite his quick release, Lake will struggle getting his shot off. Oh and we learned Andre apparently isn't ready yet.

Tell me again how many 3 pointers out of 100 that Lat made in drills...hmm.

I will take the conversation a slightly different route. I believe Barry Alvarez is a tremendous AD. I am proud that he cut his teeth at Nebraska. It is my understanding that he patterned his football program after Nebraska's. When a coach would leave, he picked a successor that embraced their history. We had an AD that seemed to be embarrassed by our history and hired a coach that decided to dismantle our history...very, very sad. We are still rebuilding from that mistake 20 years later. Now basketball. At Nebraska, basketball was overlooked by our athletic administration and many of our major boosters. So we have never had the financial backing or lofty expectation to succeed. That has changed over the past few years...so many of us expect progress...now! Wisconsin on the other hand seems to have built a foundational program similar to their football program. The coaching staff may change but the players, the way they play, et al doesn't seem to change.

I have no clue regarding "stars" but in my narrow little mind, Chucky is the best player in our state and we will have the misfortune of facing him a minimum of two times a year for the foreseeable future.

Iowa was missing a lot of wide open looks. Bohanan looked "rusty" at best.

I only say this half-jokingly...NBA worries about defense?

Tale of to halves...first half fugly. You could tell we were more talented but the mistakes were sort of predictable and nauseating. Second half was much better. Sort of refreshing. Two takeaways...the offensive line exceeded expectations. The defense improved this year. They are closer to reaching perceived blackshirt status...but improvement must continue.

I sort of thought the same regarding Stevenson. Engaged? Frustrated? Upset? Rusty?

Hard to come up with much texture. We kicked butt, and in the not so recent past we have played games like this much too close. Congrats to Banton for his triple double. We learned that Lakes will drain his shot if he is left open. I like him coming off the bench by the way. I like the instant offense he brings. If there are negatives it would be the mental and physical breakdowns that tend to occur on both ends of the floor.

My first thought was that it may have had something to do with the recent "chippy" practice(s)?

Shoot...Banton gets a triple double in barely one-half a game. Nice!
