  1. I would tell Delano to stay in school for at least one more year. Needs improvement with lateral quickness, strength, perimeter shooting and handles. Absolutely can be learned in the D-league where you can focus on basketball 24/7...but we have a staff that can hone the game as well. Shoot...I'd hate to lose him. This could be a pretty special year and he most certainly brings flexibility to our rotation.
  2. Well earned post-season honors. Now lets get it done in the tournament!
  3. Perhaps one of the smartest and dumbest plays in base all history. At least worthy of being in the top ten.
  4. #1 -- Any Husker sport. #2 -- My beloved Cubs #3 -- NFL in general #4 -- Good golf. Tiger #5 -- NHL game 7 #6 -- Good High School sports #7 -- MLB #8 -- Watching paint dry #9 -- Soccer Bottom...that thing that used to be NBA basketball.
  5. Bravo!!! Count me as impressed.
  6. WOW...just wow! Taking care of business!
  7. Yeah, no way, no how this is a gimmick move. I trust she is going to be an excellent addition to the staff. My assessment is that Fred does a good job identifying and filling needs.
  8. Yeah, once again, way off topic. First, I will admit that I am not a big fan of Phil. But the dude played a tough mental tournament this weekend and put a lot of 20's, 30's and 40 year olds to shame. A big shout out to us oldies but goodies. And great win Lefty!
  9. Proud of these young men. They came to play this weekend...and play they did! Impressive series!
  10. What a great weekend thus far.
  11. You must not be very old there are soooo many bad calls that it hurts to think about them. But hey, that is the beauty of baseball.
  12. Perhaps Sam Jose State would be a good fit.
  13. Not sure it is much of a limb. I will much more surprised if this kid fails.
  14. I have a relative who is the mascot (I think) for the Seattle Sounders. Is this the same league?
  15. Representing your country or fighting for your country used to mean something. It still does mean something to some, including me. If a coach told me to choose, there is no doubt in my mind that I would represent my country. I would also assure my coach and future teammates that once I arrive, I will become dedicated to UNL. Tougher to sell today then a couple generations ago... I wonder how much crap Willie Mays, Rocky Blier or Ted Williams took for serving our country. Different yes, but not really.
  16. Norm was forever pissed that we helped get rid of Moe Iba. Danny came in, with a major swagger that his Big 8/12 brethren hated.
  17. Isn't Pitts BB arena named after our mutual ex?
  18. Everything mentioned is critical...no doubt in my mind. Two other intangibles bubble up to the top for me: 1) Learning how to win. That includes general decision making; knowing how to use the team throttle; and understanding game situations. 2) I think it was Johnnie Orr who mentioned a "junk yard dog" when mentioning the Huskers many a year ago. We need to develop that junk yard dog mentality. Protect and fight with every bit of energy...being good is not good enough. Being good often gets in the way of being great. It is a critical mindset.
  19. One word...yesssssss!
  20. A lot of information for sure...yet accurate. They should be a top five team going into the tournament next season.
  21. Tamar's dad Master was s pretty handsy player.
  22. Yeah...being a bit...ahem...lopsided can cause back issues.
