  1. "Cupcake of the week" - wow, really?! Bulletin board
  2. Home and home with the chickenhawks. Allen Fieldhouse next year, PBA the following year. Or so I've been told.
  3. These are similar to the old time throwbacks they wore against Northwestern?? last year? Or was that 2 years ago?
  4. I have a hard time with the projection of what post season tournament we could land in. First off, we don't know how many wins it would take to reach each tournament because it sort of depends on what other teams do and also which teams we decide to beat. If you go off of the way we played the non-conf and the first three conference games, then we shouldn't win a game the rest of the year. If you go off the last four, the way we're playing now, we could be in each and every game the rest of the way, win a bunch and make the real tournament. So...
  5. Yep just did the glance forward at the remaining schedule and did the W and L thing...it's amazing what a 4 game win streak will do to those Ls that were once definite Ls and how those should be W games become locks. I think we clocked in quite comfortably at 11-7 for our final B1G record. Oh my. A couple weeks ago it was where in the world are the possible wins?
  6. Surrounded by the purple kitty-cats, eh?? And just last night the Chickenhawks went down.
  7. Miles just said on the radio that Glynn Watson is really under the weather and will be in and out more frequently tonight. Benny is better but must've handed it off to Watson.
  8. McJoe McDouble McCray hit a bunch his freshman year. Had to be close to the #3 spot in terms of makes from range in a season. Don't know about percentage though.
  9. Well not that I expect this outcome, but I've predicted this same score for the last 3 games and we all saw what happened. So it will continue... Nebraska 82 Spartans 67
  10. I don't see how Morrow could get out of a big league high school program these days without seeing the inside of the weight room. I've seriously questioned that also. I've read, I think on this board, or maybe I heard elsewhere that Morrow's high school coach "didn't believe in" lifting weights. Don't know if this is actually true as I find it hard to believe that anyone wouldn't believe in working out.
  11. Also keep in mind he was injured and lost out on time and reps and got behind before the season began. He's got pretty good size and athleticism, but the guy he's battling against for PT has even better size and athleticism. But that guy isn't transferring; this guy is.So, if we can't get the #28 recruit in the nation because he's getting playing time and not transferring, I guess I'd settle for the #29 recruit in the nation who isn't getting playing time and is transferring. Not saying we don't want him, we obviously do. I'd settle for him too. I realize he was highly rated. It's just that some of those screaming for a big guy don't seem to understand that 99.9% of big men don't come in ready to contribute significantly right away. I've heard a lot of people, not on here too much but some, proclaim him as immediate stud difference maker. Yes, we need a big guy and he would probably play right away due to immediate gaping hole, but like Hammond or Jacobson would need some development time before reaching his potential whatever that may be.
  12. I'm not saying he wouldn't help us out, I'm not saying he wouldn't play for us right away. He would. But to everyone saying he would be an immediate stud difference maker, that's throwing huge expectations on the shoulders of a guy who couldn't crack the rotation for A&M
  13. It was a fairly standard Nebrasketball crowd. School not being in session doesn't help things. Didn't really have too much issue with what the crowd did or didn't do. I audibly heard volleyball 3 clap during the opposing team announcement and Crean seemed pretty comfortable most of the time. For Indiana it was pretty dead. I too heard the volleyball clap. There were multiple times today that we could have been a major influence. Particularly when we went on our short runs, and when Indiana had stuff go against them. We as a crowd never really made an influence in the game. I heard the Indiana bench multiple times tonight from across the court 14 rows up! The mindset of the fans is pretty disappointing right now. If you go into the game thinking we are going to lose, then crowds like this happen. We talk about the players needing to learn how to win, needing to show up every game, not be ho hum about things, but the crowd that I saw today needs to take a look in the mirror. When a team hits back to back buckets to cut into a lead at home and I am in the minority of people who are standing up going crazy... That's pathetic.Yeah I am sending an email to the athletic department about where did the Husker Power chant go. I know I won't get an answer but I 'm going to ask. They don't even have the Husker Power on the floor when our team is being introduced. They at least was doing that earlier this year. Also what is a foul this year? I know you can't touch them with your hand but you can knock a guy down with the body correct? We got killed a bunch and so did they, the two worst being Shavon n the break, and Yogi going to the hole once. I feared somebody was going to get hurt. You're being serious you don't know where the Husker Power chant went Norm? I ask because I haven't had time to read the entire board lately. They started out the year with the Husker and Power lights on the floor with the cheerleaders holding signs during the opponents introductions to help the chant along. Then after a couple games of this several boosters (probably Jean Peck plus others) complained that it was bad sportsmanship. I was told the Rebounders Club took this to the athletic department and that it was decided that the University wouldn't lead the chant any longerSo if I had a bunch of money and said bring it back they might think about it? Figures, same Jackasses that want the three clap instead.I am starting to maybe rethink going to games. The powers that be could care less about me and my 6 little tickets. Well we have been really good sports lately just let the other team win yeah! Oops, Silver, Norm, same guy right? Anyway Silver that's the story I heard. University was promoting the chant during opponents intros with cheerleaders and graphics, then the University pulled support after certain people thought it was rude. Typical Nebraska bullsh** where somebody thinks it "isn't the Nebraska way" or "we're better than that" or some s**t. Everyone just show up and gol durnit, win or lose everyone should give their 3 claps, and support the participants. If nobody gets hurt, it's a good night. Nobody is doing anything obscene. Nobody is directly insulting anybody. We don't have a nasty group of students or anything similar to the antlers. I don't get it but I'm not old and I don't have a billion dollars, so...clap, clap, clap.
  14. Of course it doesn't help that the students are mostly gone these last couple games to help the chant out if the cheerleaders and light/scoreboard operators aren't allowed to. What gets me is that do these billionaire donors actually think an opposing player has a right or deserves to have his name heard overhead? The players certainly don't give a s*** if the opposing fans hear their name. For goodness sakes everyone has a damn program and their names appear on 50 score boards all across the arena. It's a freaking sporting event. Stay home and read about it in the paper if you think it's rude and disrespectful to cheer.

  16. I looked up with about 8 min left in the game and Indiana was 58% and 56% from the field and from 3, respectively. Almost 60%. I know we gave them a fair share of dunks, but they also hit bunches of tough, tough jumpers and long 3 pointers, most of them reasonably guarded. Let's face it. Our first 2 opponents in big 10 play had 3, even 4 guys on the court at a time that could knock down the 3 ball. We have at most 2 guys and a majority of the time 1.5 guys who can shoot the 3.
  17. Unfortunately, there are some other factors involved for the really good ones, including a big stage to be featured on (e.g. the Big Dance) and proven ability to get guys to the next level. Bingo. That seems to be a blind spot for many fans. Exactly. This is why we may have to settle for guys like Hammond and Jacobson. These guys are only freshman and sophomores. Most big guys don't come in game ready as freshman so you train them up and hope they are something by the time they are juniors and seniors. In the meantime, we need to keep rolling project big men into the program behind these guys and swing for the occasional JUCO big.
