  1. I like this. Against the bottom half of the league we have taken care of business, like you said. I would add that against the top half of the league we've been competitive. Certainly had our chances that we didn't capitalize on but we also haven't been manhandled. We've held our own. The ability to win on the road is also a positive. In years past there was always the road game or five where it was basically a throw away. You knew it was going to be an 85-49 loss. Those games haven't happened this year.
  2. I pray that's the case. But again concussions are serious business and there is no reason to rush or want shields to suit up again. Kids will always say they are ready to play.Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk That's true and they may have to lock Shields up. For as much as he has given to the program there's no doubting that he wants to get out there and play-he doesn't want to go out this way-throw away year or not. Yes, he has his future to consider but as far as his Nebraska career goes, this is it for him. I'm sure everyone involved will make the correct/safe calls.
  3. Great news that they are letting him back around.
  4. Why? Why put his health at risk on a lost season? That is absurd.Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk That is absurd. I'm not suggesting putting his health at risk at all. He needs to come back when he is fully healed. Not that I believe it would happen, but I was just saying that hopefully his return would be dictated by current concussion protocol (it sounds like it is) and not some lengthened experimental protocol based on the cutting edge research that is happening at UNL. I'm sure Shavon wants to get back out there if he can, as soon as he is safely cleared to do so.I am sorry but if you think current protocol is enough you haven't done enough research. If shavon was my son he wouldn't suit up the rest of the season.Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Ok let's cancel sports altogether. Way too much risk involved. I don't know anything about the current protocol other than that it's what they are currently using. I'm sure it's the NFL protocol or something very similar. More is understood now about concussions than ever before but everything feels like just the tip of the iceberg. When is the brain healed? When is it okay to return to activity? How many concussions are too many? It's certainly a scary topic. I'm sure the neurologists will weigh in and they are way more smarter than me. Get well soon Shavon.Yep hyperbolic false dichotomy, that's exactly what we are advocating. Shavon has butt his heart and soul into Nebrasketball and he found feel no pressure to come back after a concussion. Take a step back. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Take a step back from what? This is me not taking a step back because I have not once suggested that he needs to rush back or that he should come back before its time. All I've done is to ask questions about the process. Why would Shavon feel any pressure to get back? In fact, if he did feel pressure to get back, it wouldn't matter one lick. No doctor is going to clear him to get back before it's safe for him to do so.

  7. Laughable calls going both ways..
  8. It says to pay and get a rivals membershipPlease neither request nor post paid content on this site.Ummmm.....is it not okay to summarize or post take aways from these articles anymore? When did this change? I've always been aware that it's never okay to post quotes and obviously not okay to post segments of the writing, but what did I do wrong I guess?Maybe it was a bit too close? Robin hit me up about it. I don't have a Rivals account so I don't really know.Ok more clarification. Should we never post even the summaries to these articles? Basically never share information that comes from the pay sites? There's not too many ways to say "recruit is visiting schools A, B, and C' or 'recruit is down to schools A and B and will decide by such and such date'. I think your post wouldn't have prompted Robin to hit me up if it wouldn't have been responding to a "can you post what Rivals" said sort of deal because it did seem like a paraphrase vs a quote. Ok thanks. Are we at 20 pages yet?

  12. And that they aren't worried about going to the biggest name school in the same quote...that sounds like he's coming to Nebraska right there.

  14. Just watched Miles' presser. Shavon isn't even going to class right now so I don't know how you come up with any sort of time table. Rosenthal asked him if he knew if Shavon was coming back this year. How can you answer that with anything but "I don't know?" Well, you can't and that's the discouraging part. I will be more encouraged when they are able to say something a little more upbeat even if there is no firm timetable like, 'he's coming along and we're gonna see where he is in a few days'.
  15. I know it's just been 3 days. And I know with concussions nowadays, you get put into the protocol, and from there it's a wait a see type thing. But it's still a little disappointing that they literally know nothing or at least aren't sharing. And it's super discouraging that the possibility of Shavon not returning at all has been brought up even though nobody truly knows. I'm sure Shavon has been thrown into that brain research-athletics collaboration that UNL has going on. I don't know specifics but it's something about being able to track eye movement while monitoring brain activity. Obviously, everyone wants the very best for Shavon, but it would be my hope that the research doesn't get in the way of him returning in a safe and healthy manner and according to current timeframes for what's currently understood about concussions. In other words, I don't think it would, but hopefully the research doesn't delay his return.
  16. Yes same guy. We had confirmed that a couple years ago.
  17. Anton Gil(l) is ultra smooth, ultra fast, and has an ultra quick release. He's gonna be ultra good for us. It's super refreshing to have ball players. We are going to be alright.
  18. As for your last two questions, next year is not NCAA or bust. And has Miles had enough time to make a big step forward? Depends on what your definition of big step forward is. In my eyes, he has already made a huge step forward in terms of where the program was when he got here and where it is now. Made the NCAA tournament already. Now whether you believe that was luck or the team getting hot or whatever, the team still made it to the tournament. And in terms of recruiting, we are light years ahead of what Doc was able to do, even without being able to nail down a legit big man. Now, what we do next year will speak volumes to how well recruited talent is developed but I think we are headed in the right direction in that regard.
  19. I heard them. That was pretty eerie being so silent and the only thing I heard was Kent's voice. From across the arena. And I know he wasn't talking that loudly.
  20. Just curious where you are getting this information that it appears we are set to play an away game against KU next year? It's set just not announced.
  21. Do you believe Maryland played bad last night? They shot well from the floor and hit a big shot every time they needed to. Yes, the Terps turned the ball over but how much of that was Nebraska's defense forcing those turnovers. I know Nebraska played pretty bad offensively, made a ton of errors and still had chances but defensively we played pretty well. But Maryland play bad? I get what you're saying. Eventually we'd like to be able to win without playing our best, but that will rarely happen against a very good team and yet, to me, that's what almost happened last night.
  22. I thought it was a little strange that Pitch was at the game last night as well. However, I would take January/February 2014 Pitchford when he had a fire lit under him and Petteway from that same year without his mom's issues weighing on him, put them with this year's squad and that right there would be a team. I know, I know that's a lot of picking and choosing. Every team is different from a chemistry standpoint but if Petteway and Pitch could've put their differences aside and Pitchfords attitude was a little better those are some fine pieces. Andrew White is a pure shooter. He's not a threat to create. Shavon is a great player, but though he's trying quite a bit this year, he is simply not that guy who can go get you a bucket. Petteway is that guy. We would spread the floor incredibly well with Petteway, White, and Shields on the floor at the same time. Imagine the slashing lanes Petteway would have with another shooter (White) on the floor. Imagine the space Shields would have with defenses worried about Petteway slashing and/or the kickout to White (or Pitchford who could pull a big out from under the rim). Dear goodness. Pressure relieved. Right now defenses are shadowing White and are able to have bigs sag off their man or double Shields when he drives. Plus we'd have that alpha dog, that just pure balls, go and get us a basket guy in Petteway. We don't have that player right now.
