  1. Johnson is only considering Nebraska, Utah, or the NBA I believe...? So I would think that means he gets a scholarship here if he wants one based on the fact that he's a grad transfer who visited.
  2. Roby has everything the NBA scouts look for: potential, athleticism, length. They really don't care how productive of a basketball player you are. You see these European 18 year olds who average 8 ppg get drafted because they have the above 3. Not saying Roby wasn't a productive player, but he wasn't an All-Big 10 player and didn't get honorable mention either. Yet I've 100% accepted he isn't coming back since the day the season ended because of his potential, athleticism and length. Early 2nd round pick IMO with late 1st potential if he has an incredible combine.
  3. I agree, Amir's injury sounded like it wasn't that serious and that he should be back any time. Karrington's was pretty bad.
  4. I'll assume that Section_316 assumes we will land two out of Johnson, Cross, Ouedraogo, which seems pretty likely at this point based on what we've heard.
  5. The worst thing about Karrington, and to some extent Amir, is that both are apparently still injured and missing out on this time to workout and gain some trust with the staff. By the time both are full go, they won't have any slight edge on anyone coming in.
  6. How many times have you guys watched Cam Mack's YouTube highlights? I think I'm going on 5 or 6 and I am still blown away at how good he is, especially his passing. He is going to make everyone else on our team light years better. Also, have you guys noticed how easily our likely 1-2-3 guards (Mack, Green, Burke) can dunk the ball in their film? I can remember the days not too long ago when it seemed like we had 1 or 2 guys on our entire team who could dunk the ball in a game, and they definitely weren't the guards (or Jorge Brian Diaz). Kids are either crazy athletic these days, or we're actually getting them to come here. Probably a mix of both.
  7. busted out my old photoshop skills to compare side by side. Jabari Parker measured 6'9" in shoes at a pre-NBA Draft Workout, for what it's worth.
  8. I think Mack, Green, Burke, Cheatham are the starting 1-4, and then hope for Jayce Johnson as the starting 5. Kavas 6th man.* *This assumes we do not add better players even in the next month or two, which seems like a dangerous assumption at this rate.
  9. Having trouble keeping up with this, but man that 99.99% group is getting better and better every day, one baller at a time. 99.99%: Dachon Burke, Guard, 6-4, Jr. Jervay Green, Guard, 6-3, Jr. Akol Arop, Forward, 6-6, Fr. Haanif Cheatham, Guard, 6-5, Sr. Matej Kavas, Forward, 6-8, Sr. Cameron Mack, Guard, 6-2, So. Most likely as of right now: Amir Harris, Guard, 6-6, So. Brady Heiman, Forward, 6-11, So. Karrington Davis, Guard, 6-6, RFr. Thorir Thorbjarnarson, Guard, 6-6, Jr. 50/50: Kevin Cross, Forward, 6-8, Fr. (HS) Jayce Johnson, Center, 7-0, Sr. (Utah grad transfer) Maybe (visited or intends to): Dalano Banton, Guard, 6-8, So. (Western Kentucky sit-out transfer) Yvan Ouedraogo, Forward, 6-8, Fr. (HS) Maurice Calloo, Forward, 6-9, So. (Oklahoma State sit-out 1/2 transfer) Joel Ntambwe, Forward, 6-9, So. (UNLV sit-out transfer *pending waiver) Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, Forward, 6-8, So. (UNLV sit-out transfer *pending waiver) Possibilities: Tomas Woldetensae, Guard, 6-5, Jr. (JUCO) Kendall Lewis, Forward, 6-6, Fr. (HS) Terry Nolan, Guard, 6-2, Jr. (George Washington sit-out transfer) Kerry Blackshear, Forward, 6-8, Sr. (Virginia Tech grad transfer) Jahvon Quinerly, Guard, 6-0, So. (Villanova sit-out transfer) Teyvion Kirk, Guard, 6-1, Jr. (Ohio sit-out transfer) LJ Figueroa, Guard, 6-6, Sr. (St. John's sit-out transfer) Doubtful: Isaiah Roby, Forward, 6-8, Sr.
  10. Ironically in the comments of this article, Oklahoma State fans have a drastically different opinion of him. "Bit slow" "Slow release" "not in love with this offer" "can land a kid like this anytime we want" (LOL)
  11. Part of the reason he may be overlooked is he plays in Arkansas 4A, which is their 3rd largest class. Still, he went to the state championship game.
  12. Holy **** how is this kid so under the radar? Cam Mack is my #1 on my wish list but this kid might be up to #2 immediately because he is eligible play this year especially. A right-handed 6-8 guy with a big body who can smoothly dribble with his left hand? Come on Doc work your magic.
  13. Guess that hasn't been decided yet. Moved him to possible list, added HS forward Kevin Cross to maybe (visiting) list.
  14. Exactly. Fire Murphy. Claim complete ignorance to his actions and downright shock. Hire a new assistant. Move on. Rinse and repeat.
  15. Nothing to see here. Surely the video was doctored. Creighton doesn't cheat. ?
  16. Updating my roster speculation: 99.99%: Dachon Burke, Guard, 6-4, Jr. Jervay Green, Guard, 6-3, Jr. Akol Arop, Forward, 6-6, Fr. Haanif Cheatham, Guard, 6-5, Sr. Most likely as of right now: Amir Harris, Guard, 6-6, So. Brady Heiman, Forward, 6-11, So. Karrington Davis, Guard, 6-6, RFr. (Western Kentucky sit-out transfer) Jayce Johnson, Center, 7-0, Sr. (Utah grad transfer) Yvan Ouedraogo, Forward, 6-8, Fr. (HS) Matej Kavas, Forward, 6-8, Sr. (Seattle grad transfer) Maurice Calloo, Forward, 6-9, So. (Oklahoma State sit-out 1/2 transfer) Joel Ntambwe, Forward, 6-9, So. (UNLV sit-out transfer *pending waiver) Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, Forward, 6-8, So. (UNLV sit-out transfer *pending waiver) Possibilities: Tomas Woldetensae, Guard, 6-5, Jr. (JUCO) Kendall Lewis, Forward, 6-6, Fr. 17. Robin added this kid to his list and said he's also considering Illinois, UCF and Southern Illinois. Seems like we may have a fair chance at getting him.
  18. Wanted to visit here before making a decision but $topped after his first two visits to Oregon and Mi$$ouri. Maybe he just like$ NIKE. Moving on.
  19. Abdelmassih had some really interesting thoughts in an article I read. They want to have 9-10 (no more than that) eligible (scholarship) players in a given year because you can't keep any more than that happy. They want to have at least 2 sit-out transfers because it balances out the roster and then one guy doesn't have to sit out on his own and get lonely (paraphrasing).
  20. I can teach any kid the alphabet, I am pretty sure of that. But I could also find a kid who already knows the alphabet. That sounds a lot easier.
  21. Exactly. Yes these coaches claim to be able to teach shooting. But Amir didn’t even attempt a 3 this year, and Heiman attempted one. This tells me neither is remotely comfortable or confident in their shooting ability.
  22. There is none and most of us know it. The more we clean house, the sooner we will be much better. People are kidding themselves if Thor, Amir, Brady, Karrington, Nana were on other DI teams, no one would want them to transfer here. Shoot, Amir didn't commit to Nebraska until May 10 last year and wouldn't even have been a Husker if Jack McVeigh hadn't left. Yes he is athletic but let's not act like he was on Miles' radar for 3 years as a 4-year program contributor.
  23. Updated to remove Nana. Keep that news coming!
  24. Not to beat a dead horse, but I did some research.... In Hoiberg's first year at Iowa State, there were 14 players from McDermott's last team who were eligible to return under Hoiberg in year 1. Of those 14, only 4 were on the roster in 2010-11. In Year 2, only 2 remained. There were ELEVEN new players on the roster in Hoiberg's first year. If the only Husker currently on the team to finish his career at Nebraska is Dachon Burke, I would not be the least bit surprised.
  25. For the sake of the argument, let's say the following 11 players want to be Huskers and commit/transfer here: Cam Mack (eligible) Dachon Burke (eligible) Jervay Green (eligible) Joel Ntambwe Akol Arop (eligible) Haanif Cheatham (eligible) Maurice Calloo (1/2 eligible) Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua Eric Williams Terry Nolan Kendall Lewis (eligible) That leaves 2 scholarships for: Amir Harris Brady Heiman Karrington Davis Thorir Thorbjarnarson Nana Akenten In my opinion the staff will have zero hesitation about taking those first 11 guys and encouraging at least 3 of those other 5 that a different system is better for them.
