  1. These basketball gods are just flat out repulsive to us. This would be like Northwestern being close to the tournament, and one of their studs gets hurt. Can they please lighten up on us just one time? This is still a team that will go as Watson goes. If Watson can get 20 + night in and night out, this team can still win without Morrow. We just need Roby, Jacobson, Horne, McVeigh to crash the boards. If we can get through these next 3, 2-1, and get Morrow back, I like our chances.
  2. I agree. Watching it live I thought it was a travel. Watching on replay, confirms it was a travel. Outside of a few travels not being called, I was actually OK with the refs yesterday.
  3. It is a travel because he establishes his left foot as the pivot foot, then lifts that foot in the air before releasing the ball.
  4. I am getting old. My bed time is in the next 10 minutes.
  5. With all the students on break, is that why Big 10 teams are winning on the road? The home team is 12-11, going into the Ohio State/Minnesota game tonight.
  6. I wish our crowd was better. However, I'm watching the Iowa game, and when they were down by 8, the crowd was pretty dead, also. It happens everywhere. Iowa went on a run, and the crowd got it. I thought when we played in Indiana, the crowd wasn't anything spectacular unless they were on a run. I think with no students, the energy is tough to get.
  7. Struggled on defense. Didn't get out on shooters. Didn't force turnovers, especially steals, which could lead to easy baskets. Only 6 steals. Northwestern played really well on defense. They were there to protect the rim when we got by their guards, and were in the passing lanes. Nice to see McVeigh watch a few go through the hoop from long range. If we force Northwestern to shoot their season average, they go 21-49 from the floor, and 9-24 from 3, and score 64 points. I thought after Watson made the 2 free throws with 5:38 left in the game, we should have pressed, tried to force some turnovers. Maybe the tired legs scared Miles away from doing that. Probably should have given Horne a look, when we got down towards the end. I don't know if it would have helped. Put this one behind us, focus on Michigan and try to steal one on the road.
  8. Get a good break. Get a chance to get our legs back under us, and go steal one on the road. This Michigan team is not the typical Michigan team under Behlein. They lost to Va Tech and Maryland in Ann Arbor.
  9. Fire Miles! That's it I'm done. Can't even beat Northwestern at home. (Do I need to say that was sarcasm)
  10. Not meaning to be a 2nd guesser, but should have pressed after Watson's free throws.
  11. I thought at 1st it was more of the coaches riding him hard to get the most out of it.
  12. Thanks! I assumed, like Norm, that traveling rules applied. (Like refs ever call traveling, anyway)
  13. Reminds me of Gallegos, except, Horne will probably shoot for a higher percentage. He will open up driving lanes because you never know when he is going to get hot.
  14. Horne had a rough night. 3-11 from the floor, and 2-10 from 3. However, came up clutch with 2 free throws down the stretch. I know shooting free throws should be much easier than we made it, but Taylor's last 2 free throws were halfway down. Just keep, keeping on.
  15. Great game. I am usually sleeping before the game would start. However, I cannot sleep. Too excited for the victory. Wow, both teams had chances to win the game, and failed to close it out in regulation and the 1st OT. The refs struggled. One pet peeve I had, was the Iowa inbounder underneath the basket, shuffled his feet twice on inbound plays. It led to 2 free throws by Iowa and a 3 pointer by Jok. How can the refs not call traveling? It was very obvious. The tip-in was super egregious. I didn't even see the ball go in. I knew when he shot it, that there was no way the basket should have counted. Glad it didn't cost us the game. A bunch of iron men, tonight. Basically, went 6 deep most of the 2nd half and 2 OT's. Roby injured, McVeigh still struggling, Not a good game for Jordy. It was the 5 starters and Horne left. Finally got to the free throw line. 35 attempts. Need to make them, though. Watson 34 points, 7-8 from 3, 3 reb 4 ast, 3 ste. Pretty good night Tai 49 min 23 points, 6 reb, 7 ast, 4 ste. A really good night. Deserves a rest. Jacobson 7 points 13 reb. Bigtime work on the glass. McVeigh even scored. It was a crazy game, because I do not remember that happening. If the game in Iowa City is half as entertaining, that is still going to be a heck of a game. Need to continue the momentum going Sunday. #UsAlways!!
  16. Jacobson 7 pts 13 reb Pretty good night.
  17. I will take a win anyway we can get it. Just look at Penn State giving Michigan everything they wanted in Ann Arbor last night. The funniest quote of the night was in the postgame, Tai talking about guarding Jok. Jok had 4 points at halftime. Tai said, "That's the best the Big 10 has to offer?" After the game he sees he goes off for 34 points. He's like, he's pretty good.
  18. Glynn had a more efficient game than Jok Jok 12-24 FG's 5-11 3 PT's 5-6 FT's 6 REB's 5 AST 1 TO 34 PTS Glynn 11-18 FG's 7-8 3 PT's 5-6 FT's 3 REB's 4 AST 3 TO 3 STE 34 PTS I think Glynn is pretty strong minded since he came off the bench. Since the benching, he is 32-79 (40.5%) from the floor, 15-23 (65.2%) from 3, 25-31 (80.6%) from the free throw line. He is avg. 20.8 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.5 A/TO ratio.
  19. That was much harder than it had to be. Needed it, though.
  20. 4 straight free throw makes.
  21. These refs are absolute horse manure. That was the 2nd time this game the Iowa guy ran the baseline when he should have been set. It is a TRAVEL!!
  22. It's really hard to rebound when you get position, and the other team jumps on your back.
  23. Because Roby didn't show up tonight.
