  1. If any of our guys shoot a 3 again tonight, need to be on the bench.
  2. We finally get some home cooking. 7 to 0 in fouls in the 2nd half.
  3. This is getting flat out embarrassing now.
  4. Jacobson and McVeigh cannot play anymore. Jacobson is 1-7 from the free throw line. McVeigh still is not hitting anything, and now is a basket case. Anytime a post gets the ball, they dribble. If they do that, they run.
  5. Part of that is the fact we shoot 29% from 3, and 40% from the floor. Some of the passes we make, result in a missed shot.
  6. I am getting to the point where we leave a bag of cash outside the top recruits' houses. Is that bad?
  7. One stat makes it extremely easy to see why we are losing games 5 wins: 3 point shooting, we are 35 for 91 (38.5 %) an average of 7 makes per win 6 losses: 3 point shooting, we are 23 for 109 (21.1%), an average of 3.8 makes per loss. We make 3's, we win. We don't make 3's, we lose.
  8. Our last 3 coaches, were a guy who brought in local kids, and failed. Next, was a guy who tried to bring in marginal players and coach them up, and failed. Finally, we have a guy who is bringing in talented players. It hasn't brought us much luck, yet. We have a choice. We can look for the next great thing, or we can keep Miles and see if we can make something of the players he is bringing in.
  9. People really need to calm down. We need to see how the rest of this season plays out. We were within 6 points with 3 minutes to go on a neutral court against the 2nd ranked team in the country. We are still young. We need to come out and play every game as if it is the most important game. We have the 2nd toughest schedule in the country. If we can find a way to get close to .500 in conference, we can still have a successful season.
  10. Webster is the best player on the court I would have these as my starters: Webster Watson Thomas Morrow Daum In the rotation: Patton Agau Bradley Roby
  11. Watson scored 14 points with 3 assists (a chance at more if our big guys could catch the ball) and 1 turnover in 32 minutes. If it was a motivational ploy, it seemed to do well.
  12. We had a pretty good offense last year. We also had a guy that could hit multiple 3's at a 40% + clip that wanted out of town because the coach wouldn't change his offense to suit him. Right now, we are trying to run the same offense with nobody who can hit an outside shot.
  13. Yes they won 19 games against the cream puffs of schedules. The following year, Doc won 18 games playing the same schedule and got no invitation. I think our rosters are pretty similar. Our team now has more talented depth, than we did at that time.
  14. This team has a serious lack of confidence. We couldn't hit water if we fell out of the boat, right now. We can't drive to the basket if we continue to go 3-17, 3-22, 4-18, and 4-21 from 3. We are 0-5 when we shoot less than 30% from 3. That means we are 6-1 when we shoot better than 30% from 3. This team is in big trouble unless they start making outside shots. We need to come out guns a blazing, Tuesday, and stomp on Southern. Given our recent history this season, I don't see that happening.
  15. Watson had struggled the last 3 games. He had avg. 8.0 PPG, 3 RPG, 5 ast, and 6 TO. He even played 32 minutes. I would expect it was a ploy by Miles to try to get him going. I also expect him to start from here on out. I do agree we did flat out suck today.
  16. Yes, I think this program is in better shape than Collier's last year. Collier had one of the worst non conference schedules in Nebraska history his last year. Had 2 games away from Lincoln, lost both. Also, lost to UAB at home. We still only managed to go 10-3 with that schedule. Our returning team, consisted of Maric, McCray (who was suspended for half the season), and White with a few role players. We were going to struggle again the following year with Barry or Doc. I'm not saying Miles is the guy, or not. But, to pretend this team is worse off than Collier's last year is somewhat untrue.
  17. That is true. However, most of those teams also have a couple upperclassmen that can help them through growing pains. One would have to look at Ohio State last year. Losses to Texas-Arlington and Louisiana Tech at home. They had a bunch of freshmen and sophomores. One junior was on the team. As much as this loss hurts. We have to see how this season unfolds before throwing everyone to the wolves.
  18. Miles just said Jacobson had to come out of the game to puke. So, Miles decides to play him. What's the plan? Get the other team sick?
  19. Jacobson and McVeigh need some pine time.
  20. Has this announcer seen us shoot 3's. This is a 2 possession game.
  21. Somebody will take over scoring. This year, Tai is 7.0 PPG more than last year, Watson is 4.0 PPG more than last year, Morrow is scoring 6.0 PPG more than last year. That is 17 PPG that we lost with Shields. We don't stop scoring because we lose players. Although at times it may seem like it. Who knows? By the end of the year, Gill could be that guy.
  22. My dream is Syracuse playing Nebraska in Lincoln, in the NIT.
  23. I agree with that. Even a better way to look at it, is that position needs to start producing (Gill, if you put him there, Roby and McVeigh). They have struggled all year. Right now those 3 are shooting 29.8% from the floor, 29.3% from 3, and avg. 13.9 PPG. Need to find someone to hit from long range to open up the floor.
  24. Hopefully, if McVeigh is sent to the bench, he could play like Vincent Edwards, who came off the bench. He had 20 pts, 10 reb against Notre Dame. If McVeigh can't start shooting, we will not be as productive as we want to in the Big 10. These next 2 games are huge, for his confidence, against Gardner-Webb and Southern.
