How about providing some verification please; a place where we all can read the facts. I guess I'm assuming the point of the post is because he is transferring. Maybe the OP truly is wishing him the best.

Good. Opens up a valuable scholly. I wish him the best.

I agree. I like Strick, and would love for him to have a low-level assistant job here, but we're talking about our No. 2 position or maybe No. 3 depending on what we do with Harriman. If we want to keep the momentum going, I think we need to aim a little higher than Strickland.

Only problem for us is he would have to sit a season. If he goes closer to home he can't get a waiver to play next year but no way he could get one going further from home to play.thoughts on this kid?http://collegebasket...ts-to-transfer/top 120 player. 6'10 Don't remember him from the two games I watched this season but that doesn't mean a whole lot. As a freshman big man it's tough to earn quality time. Harriman had ample opportunities to watch him grow in HS out of STL so if there's interest that should help. One thing to note is that St. Louis did not offer Berry out of high school. However, Missouri offered him, and Isaac Chew was the lead recruiter for his services. Perhaps if we add Chew to the staff, which someone mentioned in the new assistant coach thread, maybe this would become an option. How's that for merging topics?

If we get a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 run out of it, it'd totally be worth it. If it ends like Creighton's did, yeah, that would suck.

Sure, David Robinson grew like 6 inches after joining the Naval Academy. Maybe we can get our own Admiral!

It's my understanding that Kenya Hunter was more or less encouraged to start exploring his options during his final months at Georgetown. Perhaps I'm wrong about that, but I thought I read that on their message board.

He has played 23 TOTAL minutes in two years at Manhattan. What makes you think he would all of a sudden be able to play in the B1G? He's Serj part deaux. Were Pitchford, Petteway, and Smith All-Stars before they transferred to Nebraska?I didn't say "This guy is an absolute stud and Nebraska absolutely has to get him on this roster." All I said was "Maybe he will get a look from Nebraska". No, they weren't all-stars or unreal recruits, but they were guys who got looks from BCS conferences, at least in the cases of Petteway and Pitchford. This guy sounds like a scrub, no offense.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/51693/dwight-smith This guy? Don't really see how he would help us, at all. Yup.

Those will definitely be two keys to watch for next season because we desperately need shooters. Sadly, they might have been the third and fourth best 3-point shooters on the team last year.
-
Good to see others in the profession are taking notice.
-
Did he at CSU?
-
He's from Indianapolis, so maybe he's attracted to the B1G.
-
I could be wrong here, but wasn't it Harriman who had the scouting responsibility for our biggest wins during our run? Maybe I'm getting that wrong.

I think there's a misfire somewhere in here. One is talking about Spoonhour being a former NU assistant who became a head coach and I think the other is thinking that Spoonhour is a suggestion for our next assistant coach.
-
I'm hoping we can come up with someone with a lot more recruiting experience than him. He's a year removed from being a video coordinator at Wisconsin.

USD fired Joey James, a former Bellevue West standout. He was their interim coach. Small world. Joey James...had not heard that name in years. I coached the reserve squad at Bellevue west when Joey was a senior... Interesting. I'm a BW grad myself. I am a Fremont high grad, coached at Bellevue west for two years my junior and senior years at Creighton. Lanny Richards was a fantastic mentor for a young coach.... I PM'd you.

I'm the guy who picked your school song.... Ha! That's awesome.

Honestly, I was in the camp that I would mind if Creighton made a nice run, but I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of this.

Congrats to Smith. With our recent success, I'd say we have a chance to add a real nice assistant, though.

Yeah, he has a nice midrange game, so that would make a lot of sense. It was actually shocking to me how robotic he looks with the ball when he was billed as such a great athlete. It seems like he's a great one-step leaper and a good shooter. Smooth athlete? Not so much. I could see Petteway become a guy who posts up other guards on a regular basis as well. He has a lot of toughness for a wiry guy.

Nothing says "long time fan" like selecting a first-year arena as your profile name. And maybe that's the problem. If someone is a new fan and only started following the team in the last few months, then it's pretty easy to criticize a player that played poorly in the biggest game of the year. But for those of us that have followed this team for any length of time, we realize that Walt is a tremendous upgrade over what we've had in the past at the 4 or 5, and part of the core group of players that gave us our best season in 1.5 decades. Room for improvement? Yes. But still very much a quality player that I'm glad is on this team. You can change your profile name whenever you want bud. So yes it is an updated name. But apologies for going overboard. Still a little hot from the Baylor game. What I was trying to say was that having a 6'10 forward that can only shoot spot up 3s is a waste of a lot of potential. I know he can be a great player and I'm being impatient waiting for it I like how Pitchford developed as the year went on, but I'm left hoping for more from him as well. I'd like for him to at least be able to occasionally post up players. I know that he isn't a post player at heart, but we desperately need someone/anyone who can catch the ball on the block and get us a bucket.
