On the bright side, Banton lowered his chances considerably for being a high NBA draft choice this year. -

Thank goodness for fast forward. While I understand the financial and academic reasons for joining the Big Ten, I have to wonder if NU made the right choice from a sports stand point. Other than our volleyball team, I am beginning to doubt we will ever catch up to the "old" Big Ten teams in any of the men's sports despite hiring who we thought were our "dream coaches". Oh, just ignore me, it may simply be another bad batch of oatmeal talking. -

Review: A fun -- and fast -- read | Book Reviews and News | journalstar.com Example of how any "system" will not succeed unless players buy into it and the coach can recruit the players who "fit" his style.

I hope Walker is a miracle man. I really thought we were going to win this game. Now after seeing all of the other teams play at this point, I'm thinking along the lines of an 0-fer for the remainder of the season. Maybe it is just a post-Christmas hangover. -
Better than calling him Eve.

And with a tinge of homer paranoia, it seems to me that the zebras are keeping a "special" eye on Teddy and conspiring to call at least one offensive foul on him early on just to "send a message" while established stars like Davison could bring a crowbar to the court and get away with it. -
And to you and all who post on this board. And with a special jolt of Holiday Spirit I hope Santa leaves both a red and a blue sweater vest under the tree of all the Creighton trolls who occasionally check in.

Late for the tip off? -
I'm just looking forward to seeing whether Davison or McGowens draws the first foul on the opponent by stopping in front of him and causing a collision. Extra points for irony if one is able to pull it off on the other.

As we await the big game with Doane tonight I thought I would add another flick to Jimmy's Hidden Gem Movie List since I still find myself downloading movies I would never have thought of checking out before the pandemic. My gem today is "The Warrior's Way" which is a 2010 movie considered to be a huge box office and critical flop. Nevertheless, this New Zealand/South Korean spaghetti/sushi eastern/western had great cinematography and score and enough blood to rival John Wick at his best. Who can resist evil cowboys mixing it up with martial arts assassins as creepy clowns look on? Seemed about right for Christmas 2020 viewing to me.

I actually appreciated Ballock more when I found out he was from Eudora, a town about the size of Seward between Lawrence and Olathe. Shows that a small town guy who can shoot and is smart can contribute in a big way to a Div. 1 team if utilized properly. -

NU now getting some love. If they can't get it on this board they won't get it anywhere. As for me, I'll stick with my reverse-jinx strategy. -
Let's see, Duke is now 2-2 so they figure they have already cinched a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Game Day Essentials: Game #5 vs Georgia Tech

Zebras will ,as usual, play a large role in determining this game. Drawing a few early fouls on Wright and sending him to the bench for significant minutes would be nice. On the other hand, if they decide to let him muscle us inside, we will be in trouble.
