  1. If Keisei has any success on the court, there will be a large potential group of followers on social media available.
  2. And just when I finally learned how to spell "Krzyzewski"...
  3. As I recall, Roby did this and went pro, Cam Mack did it and ended up in the portal, and Ryan Anderson did this and ended up coming back, so it probably doesn't mean much about what Delano is going to do next year at this point.
  4. 1.NU basketball-unrequited love 2.Red Sox-requited x4 3. Chiefs-requited x2 4. NU football-requited x 3 5. KU basketball-requited x2 6.Celtics-too apathetic to count now.
  5. Beer steamed hot dogs and fried clams...MMMMM
  6. Seems like another wise move by Fred to me. From both a basketball and publicity standpoint it establishes the national perception of a "cutting edge" program. Now we just have to get some "Ws". Plus, I used to like the old Lum's franchise on "O" street back in the day, so there's that.
  7. All I can add is my personal experience. I tore the meniscus in my left knee in the 7th grade in an (ill-advised) attempt to play football. Our town was so far in the boondocks that an orthopod only visited every other month so the swelling and pain had subsided by the time he arrived. My parents opted to pass on the surgery which he recommended so every year the knee would spontaneously collapse once or twice and I would limp around on a grapefruit sized joint for a week or so. I broke my left arm during one of the falls. Anyway, the knee was stable enough to let me play basketball and start my senior year (probably cost me my college career though) (just kidding). My knee gave out again in my late twenties and I broke my right arm. So I finally had an eminent orthopod "clean up the joint" in my thirties in the day before arthroscopy. It quit collapsing, but it remained bone-on-bone thereafter and the calf became 1/3 smaller than the right one. It was known as my "bad pin" as the arthritis began to bother me enough to disturb sleep. Finally in my seventies I got the necessary knee replacement and now the arthritic discomfort is tolerable and although it still doesn't haver full range of motion I have abandoned my hope of playing college ball. Thanks for bearing with this long tale of woe. Moral: Wilhelm is wise to get this fixed ASAP!
  8. Knee injuries are never good, but this is much better than a ligament injury.
  9. I just don't find watching curling that compelling.
  10. Don't you mean McPipeline? After all this is a Nebraska basketball site.
  11. I hope they are able to set up a special curling exhibition for the visit.
  12. Is it time to say that Mark Few is unable to win "The Big Game" yet? I seem to remember Roy Williams and Tom Osborne wearing that label for awhile.
  13. Looks like we might have a chance to beat two KSU's next year.
  14. I do not like the Elam Rule!
  15. Joe now appears to have acquired Silverback's arms.
  16. I'm just glad Quaran is not a teen. The past year has made me very leery of that combo.
  17. Basketball/Jimmy history lesson for the day: I attended the first game at the Pan American Center where the Aggies still play on Nov. 30, 1968. They beat Colorado State and had a powerhouse team that year coached by Lou Henson who later coached Illinois. They also played the NCAA opening round Western region tourney games there which I saw the month before I got married.
  18. That's ok, after all you are only 17. (I assume)
  19. Quaran McPherson (prospectiveinsight.com) Here's a long interview. Sounds like a combo guard with good size who played with Kofi Cockburn at some point.
  20. Shamiel-thanks for everything...and for being the final domino in this thread.
  21. I'll have a slice, but go easy on the whipped cream.
  22. Shouldn't Sam Hoiberg be listed as a walk on?
  23. I hope the student section has someone working on placards in Japanese to hold up at games. They should be quite decorative.
  24. I'm sure there must be some sort of "egregious" clause to the rules to prevent a player's Grandma, for example, being hired as an assistant. (actually I just wanted to use egregious in a sentence this morning). I think most schools simply comply to the old unwritten rule "It's not breaking the rules unless you get caught". (Actually, some guy in Kentucky ran for county sheriff and won using the phrase " its not against the law unless you get caught".)
  25. Since we are on the topic of relatives-hired-to-recruit players, one of the greatest examples, Danny Manning was just hired as an assistant to Mark Turgeon.
