That's it. Sound went off again on the screen-which faded to black as well. I'll wait for the newscast tonight now. -

This is cumbersome. Allen has just provided a double spark. -

Anyone watching this live? I can't make the plus thing work and don't know how to turn the radio on. -

What is score? Have we reached rock bottom yet? -
I've been wanting to make an X's and O's post...

Obviously it was rigged before it ever started. I think we should have a special prosecutor appointed immediately. And I nominate our designated bellwether. -
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Emporia was also the birthplace of Dean Smith (the real one).

Hey, don't sell my Dad's old alma mater (Not to mention the legendary Shang Ping's) short. The Hornets always show some sting in roundball. And old Jimmy was born in Emporia a few years back.

Lasted until the final out of the Series and can close the thread on topic now. A team which had never done something finally achieved the goal their long suffering fans have been patiently awaiting. Sound familiar HHC? -

Just to sort of finish up this thread, I trust some of you picked up my somewhat obscure Halloween movie reference above. And congrats to those of you who were awake at the end of the game Sunday, although Kamdy gets only half credit for lasting until 10:30. I plan to gut it up until the bitter end for the final game even if the score is 20-19. I can't wait until I hear them play "One Shining Moment". -

I think Jack must be able to clear more space to get his shot off because of the squirrel in his beard.

I don't remember ever taking an ACT test before college. Could that be right? I did take something called an SAT. I think our dog might have eaten my score. Or maybe it got lost among all those old homework papers of Roburt Sallie that are blowing around somewhere.

He always seemed like a smart guy and hard nosed player with the Red Sox. I used to follow a blog of his but eventually lost track of him. -

Ahh, the beauty and curse of baseball. A game played with, theoretically at least, no preset ending point. Love it or hate it, in many ways it mirrors life better than most of the games which we have invented to pass our time here. -
Scoring is important, but certainly not the only aspect of being an effective basketball player. Maybe Copeland will be a "glue" guy for us? Who cares, as long as our team wins.

So far only two have admitted to lasting to the end. Fans now need a well pitched game on Tuesday to keep MLB from becoming a slo-pitch softball league. And, HB, please note the time this thread was started. We retired folks are not exactly night owls. Now for my morning bowl of oatmeal and prunes. -
This is for my own edification only. With no vested interest in the outcome and a totally mesmerizing contest, how many lasted until the final out of last night's WS game? Personally, I called it quits after the 7th. Be honest now.

Hey, let our friends to the north alone. This is the day they get to turn their reversible red/blue sweater vests inside out.

Exhibition Game: Nebraska at Mississippi St
jimmykc replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Our first "must win" game. If we lose, we will have hit "rock bottom". ( please note: HHC members also have to prepare for the season) -
Since this thread totally left the track long ago, I will give Mr. Padilla and Hail Varsity some props for their latest issue with a long piece on the basketball team. Some excellent black and white photos of the new guys and lots of info from Jacob which all of us here probably already knew, although he did find out that a young squirrel is living in Jack's beard.
