  1. A.The CPA firm I am using this year B. A prominent legal firm in Nebraska C. A soft pop folk singing trio during the 70's D. A group of starting quarterbacks on three of the four NFL playoff teams in 2018.
  2. For informational purposes, the only Nebraska player I can remember having any success after transferring to another school was Andre Woolridge in 1995. Unless one counts the modest impact that guy who transferred to Syracuse had last year a "success".
  3. This means we have a chance. Yessss!
  4. To highjack this thread in a slightly different direction, we now have 12 games left. I figure we can still have three losses in the regular season and remain a viable bubble team. If we get that fourth loss , it will become the one that hurts the most. On a positive note, we can still have a 15-3 league mark. I think that is more possible than a 3-15 record, n'est pas?
  5. Florent: We have a dream....
  6. Revisiting this thread on the morning after a game like this one is like going back to the party room after New Years Eve. You might find a savory hors d'oeuvre someone overlooked or you might step on the puke under the table. My take: We would have won this game 1. with Jordy available, 2. with Palmer playing at the end 3. by hitting free throws at our normal rate. OK, time to move on and show Illinois we are for real.
  7. Jacob: Please don't tell us his hands are Woodburyesque. And atsk: I understand that carats are also very good for you.
  8. If this is how it ends with Jordy, at least we all learned what poutine is. And that is my sunshine pump for today.
  9. NU 71, Penn. St. 74 Sorry to waffle on this one but the Jordy thing made me rethink my original post since these teams have similar aspirations this year and Penn State probably needs this one a bit more. Hope I will regret changing horses.
  10. What? We beat Wisconsin and no one rushed the court? What is going on here? Actually it was clever of the team to make all those who left early stand in the aisles until the very end. OK, that one is over. Now we have to play a better game at Penn State or we'll be back to a .500 team. Should be an interesting game which I'm sure Penn State thinks is winnable. Let's hope we can cause Pat's face to break the existing record on the Fran-o-meter redness scale.
  11. Can't disagree at this point but #5 and #6 look poised to fall. We must sweep this week to rise, though.
  12. From what I have seen of the league this year I think our team has a legitimate chance to finish in the top four. That's not saying we will, but even the biggest pessimist has to agree we should not finish in the bottom four.
  13. And I expect Northwestern to be beaten by Penn State tonight as well.
  14. Any way you look at it we will be sorely overmatched on Saturday at that position. All we can hope is that our three bigs will be aggressive enough to draw some fouls from their two bigs and that Roby will then be able to use his athleticism toward the end of the game like he did on Tuesday. I'm pretty comfortable with the rest of the matchups on the rosters.
  15. Will they go to the White House if invited?
  16. Like many (most) of us here I have played the NIT game for years. Remember, we were once a fixture in the NIT and won the whole thing one of those years. None of the NIT runs got us a win in the NCAA the following year. So, no, I do not think winning the NIT is worth even one victory in the Big Dance. I hope that at worst the cameras will be on our team on selection Sunday to record our disappointment/jubilation when we get the result. Surely we will deserve at least one of the "play in" games if we maintain our present course.
  17. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Messing with the starting lineup after a victory is bad mojo. After a bad loss, it sometimes may be a wakeup call. At this time of the year, injuries and illnesses, poor effort in practice, and the exigencies of each game should be the main reasons for significant changes in minute allocation.
  18. Jack deserves a few more minutes just for the accent. And could we be seeing the return of "the beard"?
  19. Our three most effective players in recent history at taking the ball full court and finishing at the rim have been Lance Jeter, Tai Webster, and James Palmer Jr. because of speed, strength and the Euro-step. I think Palmer might be the best of the three.
  20. This somewhat makes up for my bowl predictions. Unfortunately, I had some monetary interests there. I am most impressed with the number of posters exceeding that Pom guy this year.
  21. Warning to those who predicted early: McIntosh hurt his knee in the Brown game. Extent of injury not yet reported. Made a difference in my prediction anyway. Don't like to see opponents injured, but all teams eventually must deal with these things (think Shavon Shields).
  22. Nebraska 73 Northwestern 70 Confession: I was going the other way until McIntosh got injured.
