  1. Looks like another "storybook" season for the Bluebirds will end on a losing streak...
  2. Lunardi still has Oklahoma in for Christ sake! They're in 9th place in the Big XII! I just watched K-State/TCU and their both in? We could start Duby AND Jordy and beat either one of them. Good thing the liquor cabinet is stocked up thru Sunday...
  3. I didn't think it was possible, but I hate the Cowboys even MORE now...
  4. Speaking of the football players, I'm sure we all remember they had their own unspoken "Section" in the SW corner (I think) of the bleachers under the bucket. Neil Smith, the aforementioned Leroy and all the rest would show up dressed to the 9s with LOTS of pretty ladies. I recall one game when Doug Dubose should up dressed like Eddy Murphy from the "Golden Child."
  5. This isn't going to come down to any type of analytical number crunching. Nope, this is going to come down to some old fashioned, smoke filled backroom, Mayor Daley, Chicago type shenanigans. And that's where our man Big Rass from Omaha comes in...
  6. Hey I'm not doggin' us, I was shocked when I found out those numbers myself. All you can do is play who's on yer schedule and beat 'em & we did that. I'm sayin' we're IN.
  7. Hey Moos, just give Miles his contract extension and be done with it. What more is there that has to be said or done?
  8. 16 of our 22 wins came against teams with a losing record, and it's hard to put a *spin* on that one. But, be that as it may, and my Kool-Aid addiction aside, this team has a weird "glow" around it that's gonna carry it thru... maybe even to, dare I say it, a rematch with Creighton!
  9. I will sleep like a baby this week because I am IN, just like the Cornhuskers!
  10. I was one of those students who got a donut from Coach Nee that morning in the ticket line. Had a smoke and a beer with him at the old Cliff's years later. He was a loudmouth, East coast, a**hole, but I love the guy...
  11. I don't know what the opposite of a "Jaysker" is, but I'm puttin' all my faith in the Creighton AD.
  12. That reminds me of a quote from "Spinal Tap." "Do you think the popularity of the band is waning? No, are fans are just becoming more selective."
  13. Short answer: NO. The National media doesn't like to remind people that Nebraska has a Basketball program.
  14. That Michigan game in Lincoln last year seems a lot rockier than this...
  15. That's a take reminiscent of Nebraska football when everyone would say, "We always play like horses**t when we're on TV." Well, back in the day, if the game was televised it was ALWAYS against a good opponent making victory less likely. Same deal here, double-bye opponents and NCAA tournament games aren't against scrubs. You're not going to beat anybody shooting the way we did today.
  16. I just woke up in a cold sweat thinking about that New Mexico St. dunkfest, all those missed 3s vs. Penn, and Baylor. But that's over friends, and as Hemingway said, "The Sun Also Rises." I STILL am convinced we'll get a bid and I'm still convinced we'll have Bruce Rasmussen to thank for it.
  17. We're treading dangerously close to "ethnic stereotyping" on this, I just hate that smartass grin Wagner has all the time. Here's hoping the Wolverines get smoked their next 2.
  18. I know "Hate Will Never Win" but I HATE that Wagner kid...
  19. Now, about those NIT rule changes...
  20. Well, If they're gonna move the B1G Tournament around, (which they won't) since Maryland and Rutgers have now been thrown a bone. Why not have it in Omaha, or Milwaukee, or Minneapolis? I get they want to expand the "Footprint" East, but like Blincheck said, at least people in the Midwest will show up.
  21. I was about to raise that same question. There was a time when the ABA had a lot more "Street Cred" than the NBA and better players too. Dr. J, the Iceman, David Thompson, George McGinnis etc.
  22. Hopefully you won't have to bust out Jones singing "If Drinkin' Don't Kill Me" mid-afternoon...
  23. He's seen us play in person 3 times, and predicted we would beat Kansas. I doubt any other committee members have seen us play (other than on tape) and politicking for your rival makes him seem especially fair minded. Plus, it's just the decent Midwestern thing to do...
