Pat Chambers probably could use a few ultimatum years rather than contract extension. It's a very tough balance between providing your coaches with the resources they need to succeed and doing what's best financially for the university. Unfortunately agents don't budge very often on buyout clauses vs. salaries, so ADs are left with either going with the status quo or letting a contract run thin.
