  1. "...a series of incidents over the course of a year."
  2. He's already turned down the job, so you won't have to worry about boasting about Altman getting the job.
  3. My understanding is that the committee does take into consideration major events like an injury to make decisions. That said, our whole body of work consists of only beating 1-3 teams who will make the tournament, with our best NET win against Clemson who is holding on to a "last four in" bid. We also have a nonconference SOS of 191 out of 353 teams (45th percentile). We didn't do ourselves any favors going through a huge losing period, but if people want to compare us to Oklahoma last season, their SOS was 165 but they were 6-9 in Quadrant 1 and beat teams like Kansas, Wichita State, Texas Tech, TCU x2, and Kansas State who were all in the tournament.
  4. That's just NCAA's way of trying to either expand the tournament or try to legitimize the play-in game as being part of the tournament. Marketing at its finest.
  5. https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/husker-basketball-sophomore-akenten-suspended-indefinitely/article_714d220f-c027-5149-976a-1453815835ff.html Miles said he informed the team during Thursday's practice. With Nana out, a team already short on depth used former Husker Brandon Ubel on the scout team as he rehabs from a knee injury.
  6. There are 215 pages of threads on this version of HHC. The number of threads that have stayed on topic is roughly 4. And that may be generous... Speaking of threads... what's everyone's most preferred thread count? I hear at some point it's basically diminishing returns and just a marketing ploy.
  7. I really think they went down the RPI list to make their selections. If you recall, we weren't doing so well in that Metric, but there were a couple others in our favor that the committees didn't consider. If they do it again this year, based on NET, we have a shot at getting a bid in the NIT.
  8. Place your bets:
  9. Would we even have a chance for a home game if we get in?
  10. I just think that my current BBQ sauce isn't getting quite the results I was hoping for. There's been a major upgrade in the quality of meat, it's cooked on a pristine grill that's only 6 years old and is consistently one of the top 15 you can find in the country, the cooks have been willing to dedicate more time and money to it. But I've been using my BBQ sauce for seven years now and it just hasn't quite elevated things to quite the level I was hoping for. Should I search for a new BBQ sauce, or do you think I should continue as is and hope for better results?
  11. That just came out of left field.
  12. Some may blame a vicious cycle. Other may blame the higher ups making the decisions to hire coaches who encompass riskier resumes that may lean toward that vicious cycle.
  13. That would be a winning season and 1 game over 0.500 for Miles at Nebraska.
  14. Modern Cornhuskers - 65 Former Cornhuskers - 72
  15. I've seen it many times tonight on offense too. We would get the rebound, but instead of using two hands to get the missed bucket, we just try to tip the ball back in and miss more than half the time.
  16. Just watch the first 5 minutes and then turn it off.
  17. I agree with that. If Moos has exhausted his contact list at this point, I think it all comes down to what other jobs are open in the offseason and how NU and the coaches' agents are selling the program. It's also possible that Moos already has it figured out and we just have to wait for the season to end for an announcement, one way or another.
  18. There's a very high probably that neither will any of our top 10 choices. The coaching community is small. We're going to have to provide more than just a monetary incentive for some coaches to take a chance on us.
