  1. Do we have an open scholarship for a former MVC 3 point specialist who can't hit 3 pointers? What the hell. SMDH. Cannot figure out why this kid was supposedly at the top of our recruiting board at some point. But if his last name had been Daum and he'd been from Kimball, NE instead, he'd have blown up in college and people would have been wondering how we could have missed on offering him. And what kills me just as much (if not more) is that he was a top 150 player on rivals. Now i know rivals top 150 isn't always accurate. Taking Hammond for example. Everyone went crazy around here when we signed Jake seeing as he was a top 150 and he is obviously nowhere near the top 150 caliber of player. But i seriously wonder how Abrahamson was ever anywhere near top 150 boards? It doesn't make any sense to me.
  2. He's under the radar because of how lazy he plays
  3. I've said this all year (not on here but just in general) that South is nowhere near the team that people think they are. They were just much more athletic than any other team this year and they defended their way to a state title. Their offensive ability is below average in my opinion for as good as people give them credit for. The people that compared this team all year to the Central teams and calling South the "New Central" are just crazy. I graduated 2010 and played at the class A level and can say with confidence that the Omaha Central team of that year would beat this South team by double digits and I'm pretty confident in saying that. I think this South team is very athletic and has a few good defenders on their team, but I was never all that impressed with them throughout this year.
  4. I'm assuming you meant first round draft pick? She went 12th, not 1st...
  5. Completely agree with this. Obviously the less games have to be played the better, but the first glance i took at the bracket if it started today, i thought the exact same thing. Both of those are very winnable for us. Purdue not so much.
  6. Could the last 2 minutes of that half have gone any worse? My goodness
  7. I would assume Marcus Perry is up there near the top as well for most made and % in a season? could be wrong though
  8. Not to be nit picky, but how on earth does the very first dribble of the game off the tip not get called a double dribble? You can clearly see it in the video how he spins it in front of him, grabs it with two hands, and then dribbles it again! lol
  9. Or maybe they've refined their act so well that they changed so quickly you never even knew they were the halftime entertainment... this is a definite possibility
  10. Nothing will top quick change though. So frustrating that we haven't had them back in years.
  11. Without looking it up, I wouldn't be surprised if Glynn is in the mix for 3rd. Doesn't shoot much but decently accurate. But if I had to guess I'd say jack 2nd and Benny 3rd
  12. His mom retweeted my tweet yesterday. not sure if that means much or not.
  13. what's sad is all 4 could be on the court this season...
  14. What's scary is that on paper, this game was completely in our favor. 9 times out of 10, scoring 72 points at home on 45% from the field, 42% from deep, and 87% from the line will get it done no problem. 4 more assists than your opponent. 1 less turnover than your opponent. Triple double alert from your PG that produces very minimal stats his entire career. At first glance you sit at wonder how in the hell we ever lost this game. But to allow them more defensive rebounds than our total rebounds is pathetic. To allow them over double the FT attempts we shoot is awful. I just don't understand it with this team. I don't know how everyone else feels, but I think this one stings more to me than the Samford loss, and trust me I was pissed after the Samford game. But to give up a 12 point lead at home to a conference foe with a record like that (granted they played a shitty non con) just absolutely kills me. I said it previously but I still completely think Miles is the guy for this job, but I'm starting to question it more than I should. The loss of Craig Smith is way more devastating than any of us ever could've imagined, and the addition of Molinari has just killed us. Something has to change IMMEDIATELY!
  15. The son of BJ or Amon I'm guessing? Amon
  16. Dad held him back for an extra year so that he could be the best (or one of the best) in his class.
  17. I've just never understood how in 4 years under Miles, we've been a team that struggles with a press and we've been AWFUL against any type of zone, every single year. Last night wasn't even a tough press to break. It was a soft 2-2-1. The only time they put pressure was when they would faceguard, and I just kept seeing flashes of the Ohio State loss in the B1G tourney 2 years ago when we couldn't break the press even once. Then you get to our zone offense. We rarely look to get the ball to the short corner or to the high post. I understand that we still don't have a ton of shooters on this team, but we have capable shooters for sure. Andrew has struggled from the arc more than I thought he would this year (and maybe that's on Miles and the staff for hyping him up so much). Shavon is a capable shooter, although not great. Tai can knock them down, Glynn can knock them down, Benny hits one every once in awhile. This team is very capable of beating zone defenses but it just seems like Miles never puts us in the right situation to beat a zone. Lastly, why the hell is Benny getting 22 minutes in that game? 0-4 from the field, 1 rebound, 3 fouls, 2 points, 1 assist, 3 turnovers. Someone explain that stat line to me? These are pretty consistent numbers for him recently. I understand not everyone on this board is a stats guy, and stats aren't everything, but stats prove this point. Benny provided no spark last night. I just don't get it
  18. I think our big man problem is inexperience in addition to size. Groselle? 5th year senior Porter? Senior I hope that we have finally started a bigs pipeline with Hammond, Jacobson and Morrow and then we add another in 2016, 17, etc. On some levels I understand why we haven't signed a JUCO big man up to this point but on more levels I can't understand why the hell we haven't signed a JUCO big man up to this point. Does Shang Ping have any eligibility left?
  19. Down to 5 now
  20. I think we're on to something here. Has anyone pitched this idea to Miles yet?
  21. I get people wanting Watson to start. He's a future stud for this team. WITH that said. Benny did a HELL of a job on Rodriquez. That dude can play, and Benny and his on ball pressure was great vs him. Size wise they matched up fairly well, so I had no problem seeing Benny play the minutes he did. Benny also did a great job getting into the paint tonight. Problem was, they had a 6'11 dude waiting on him. I'm a huge Benny Parker fan. I think some of the things he does on the defensive end are overlooked by fans because he may not do quite as much on offense. Either way, its nice for us as fans to name off about 3-4 players that we think "should" be playing more outside of the top 3-4. Shows that we are finally getting some solid depth to this team. Getting into the paint is great if something comes of it. The problem is, that didn't happen when benny got into the paint last night. He never went up with a shot (thank goodness because it would've been thrown into the 5th row), he never drove and kicked or dished off. He would get into the paint and then just dribble right back out because he couldn't do anything with it. That gets us nowhere. Also, does anyone else roll their eyes the minute Benny gets in a transition situation because he absolutely never scores on a breakaway basket. When will he learn to either pull it out, or try to get creative with a move or two. He tries to speed down the floor and then just lay it up with a defender constantly trailing and we are never successful in those situations.
  22. I'd suspect that Tarin was probably a better scorer and was more polished/ready for college play. Bakari is probably the better shooter and facilitator. Better shooter? Seriously? From what I've seen so far the outside shot is a decided weakness of Bakari. Not sure where you've gathered that? Bakari is a good 3 point shooter. Knocked a couple down this year. Can't expect him to come in cold after sitting 37 minutes and start drilling them left and right
  23. He was showing how Ed was playing. You can hear them say it
  24. Sek obviously wasn't one of the kids who had to kneel down for team pictures as a kid because everyone knows (including his teammates) that you go with the one knee stance.
