  1. Those legs don't look very hairy.
  2. Maybe. I think if it has been played on Tuesday rather than Wed, it might be a bigger deal, but it's possible they could be a bit gassed as that game progresses. They're kids though and with three of those games at home all in a row, that will help. If that game was in Columbus rather than Bloomington before ours, that would have been nice.
  3. yep. Started in 2006. Got big in 2008-09, exploded in 2010. At least that's roughly what wikipedia tells me.
  4. Chicago. If NU makes the dance this year, I think you'll see a dramatic impact on the next couple of classes.
  5. Are you suggesting a divisional format where you play the teams in your division twice and teams on the other side only once? No thanks. This absolutely killed the SEC and has the potential to create an extreme imbalance in your league schedules.Team no divisions for basketball. Just for scheduling, not for standings. Big 12 did it just fine for a long time. With as far as the conference stretches now, I think like this would be reasonable.
  6. Wouldn't it better to have 7 home-and-home w/ 6 single-play for a total of 20 games? It would keep more teams playing H&H and the total # of home games would be identical to the total # of road games. That could work.
  7. I'd prefer to go with a Big 12-esque split, have six home and homes, seven single plays, 19 total league games. There's not a perfect split, but this seems like a solid option. Simplest split would be to break up Northwestern and Illinois. Neb Iowa Wisc Minn Northwestern Indiana Purdue Rutgers Penn St. Maryland Illinois OSU MSU Mich
  8. They hit 77% from the line. That's not a bad number.
  9. Just got home from the game after getting a drink with some friends. First time I've done that after a game. That's pretty cool. - Man, this isn't the same script as in the past. Won today, which means they get another opportunity on Sunday. That's exactly what you are supposed to do when you face a cellar dwellar at home when you have an opportunity like NU has. Totally different from anything I've ever seen at NU. - This team is locked in right now. - Petteway, just a cool 20 whatever points. - Was it just me or were there a lot of fouls today. Goodness. That was tough to watch. - Good thing we shot them pretty well. - Shields seems to have found himself, he looks a lot like we saw last year. That's good. - Gallegos got to see a few go in today, hopefully that can get him going a bit. - We had some parking issues so I missed the intros. How did the chant go? I heard it was a success. - Sounds like Walt's going to be ok, that's a relief. That place got really quiet when he went down. - I thought the crowd was good to very good at times. I don't think it was the A+ crowd Miles wanted, but it was pretty good. - Gregory Eaton took a helluva charge. - Two games in the loss column between the top half and the bottom. Thanks Minnesota. - Was the game so out of hand that 5 techs need to be called? Really? - Best game Webster's played in conference play, yet. You wonder if Parker getting playing time has lit a fire under him a bit. That hesitation he had in the first half, was, like, whoa. Haven't seen that all year. Lots of good stuff today. Gotta get rested up for the hockey game tomorrow. Here's to another step in the right direction on Sunday!
  10. Visiting tonight again, per Robin just now on 1620.
  11. This should be good for a team like Nebraska that will be looking to build off what we hope is a strong finish to this season.
  12. Kearney Man badgering split off.
  13. Mary Katherine Gallagher, heh...
  14. That's Barfknecht's job, not Dirk's.
  15. I would compare Doug McD to Jordan Hooper on our women's team. The difference being that Greg McD managed to have some guys around like Wragge and Gibbs and Manigat who can fill out a lineup, whereas Nebraska's women's program has a three-headed monster and not enough talented depth to leverage the kind of player Jordan Hooper is. The point being that it's not enough just to have that one elite player if you don't have the supporting cast to make the whole team successful. I'd go with Kelsey Griffin and that 2009-10 team, but yeah, absolutely.
  16. I think it's sort of a win-win. There is little chance we would get a 4 seed without winning out and if we win out, there is no way we aren't in the tourney. Or to put it another way. There's no way they're gonna shut out the 4th place team from the freakin' B1G from the dance. I mean, has that EVER happened? No, probably not. But that's not to say it couldn't happen. It's not really that unlikely that we find ourselves in the #4 spot...unless you look at history. We're basically tied with OSU and one back of Wisconsin with a game to play vs. them in our building. OSU's schedule is pretty soft, too, so you'd think they've got the inside track to the 4 (not sure how the tiebreaker would work in that case) if we tie with them. Wisconsin is soft in the middle but is book ended with tough roadies at Iowa and us. I think it'll be those three fighting for position down the stretch for the 4-6 spots unless one, which most would suspect as most likely us, collapses. Just win, and it'll take care of itself. I think, though, if NU can't get the bye, the 6 seed would be a pretty good spot to end up.
  17. Maybe. Depends on what his influence was on the locker room. If he was a negative influence, it could just have easily worked the other way. We'll likely never know for sure and of course the goal is always to get better, but I don't know that we'd be in this spot with Biggs still on the roster. I don't think it's a coincidence this team has played its best ball starting almost immediately after Biggs left.
  18. I think if CU keeps winning, not at this level, because they may never have a team like this again, but competitive in the Big East, which I do think is possible, likely, even, and NU continues to build, I do think that both teams will fill their gyms on most nights. I also think the red/blue divide will deepen and Jayskers will become more prevalent. It'll be a political microcosm...
  19. Well, the perception is that Atwood prefers Iowa and since they're joined at the hip...
  20. In 1991, Olympic Stadium had some similar issues and the Montreal Expos had to finish their season entirely on the road. They played the entire month of September away from home.
  21. You were not kidding, btw I surprise even myself sometimes.
  22. According to a friend of mine who is a Marquette fan, you should at least look if Crean has a fake tan/isn't wearing glasses because the game is on national TV. Not sure if he does that sort of stuff anymore since he's landed the big time job now. I'll cede that duty to you, my friend.
  23. Did they take their podcasts down from itunes? I can only find them on their site now. The podcast doesn't load anything up anymore.
  24. I see very little chance that Indiana beats Iowa...
  25. Anywhere between 4th and 6th is a good spot for this team to be in. We'd likely face Illinois, Northwestern or Penn St. in the first game. I don't want Indiana or Purdue if we can avoid it. Give us a neutral arena and I'll like NU's chances. OSU isn't scary anymore and I think this team would love another shot at Iowa anywhere between 4th and 6th would be really good scenarios for this team.
