  1. how is he going to plummet? he cant control tai's test scores. All tim can do is go out and compete for the best players and athlete's like he is doing now, plus the real class that we need some big time players is 2015. I'm not saying it would be miles fault if Tai doesn't make it, but our 2013 class is going to be very average without Tai.I'm not sure I understand your logic of 2015 being a more important class than 2014. We have no true post threat, and without Tai there would be no dynamic guards. I assume you mean that there will be no dynamic guards in the 2013 class, not that there will be no dynamic guards on the team... Do you think Biggs will be dynamic? Please don't say Rey... Good player - far from "dynamic". At least by my definition

  3. Sounds familiar...
  4. If this is his list, then I really hope Miles is recruiting the crap out of him. In my opinion: --Nebraska offers the most of any of these schools --New arena that is already completely sold out --Top notch practice/training facilities --A chance to go up against the best-of-the-best in the Big Ten, #1 basketball conference in the country --A chance to play in HUGE games against highly ranked teams --I would imagine that Nebraska will play 7-10 games vs ranked teams next season --5 Sweet 16 teams coming to play at the new Pinnacle Bank Arena --"Dunk City" is coming to town --He will likely be able to start from day 1 --Winning an NCAA tournament game will not be "just another season", but would probably get his jersey retired at Nebraska (I think this is probably hyperbole, but I can't say that for sure) Marshall: Conference USA Memphis: Conference USA Rhode Island: Atlantic 10 (losing some of their best teams, which are heading to the "new big east") Gonzaga: West Coast Conference Keeping my fingers crossed, even though the past definitely does not set precedent for something like this to happen for Nebraska basketball. I guess, Fool me once...shame on you...fool me twice...shame on me...if the rug gets pulled out from under me on this one, then shame on me... We have more to offer than a team that was the top seed in the NCAA tournament last year?? Hoping Miles is pounding all of your points home to this guy (and hoping they interest him)... but tough to beat out Gonzaga - who is desperate for frontcourt help.
  5. My expectations are in line with Mario's. My HOPES are in line with CWG's
  6. Win-win unless we lose... Won't be an easy win by any means. Not as tho we return a ton of experience or cohesiveness.
  7. I apologize... It was an intersection under construction and I was in line for 10+ minutes so I checked the dungeon.
  8. Disappointed as well. Not a bad game by any means. Will definitely be exciting/hyped... Just hoped for some sort if tradition or connection. That being said, playing over 25% of last year's sweet 16 is pretty sweet.
  9. Ha - sorry. Typed that in at a red light. My point stands... Guy was awful.
  10. Yeah, I agree with that, but also, wasn't the problem with Edwards primarily an injury issue? Like a shoulder or knee?No - he was just terrible. And dumb. I disagree. He wasn't terrible, nor was he dumb. He maybe lacked motivation, though. His shot rivaled Shawn Stegall's for ugliest shot I saw at Nebraska. And he was incredibly dumb on the court - never new where to be. Also had zero quickness.

  12. Bumped for new news or just because??
  13. Good points, hooper. Nebraska has about a 3-year window to capitalize on the glam and glitter of the new facilities and momentum of our new coach. We've put a LOT of our trust in Miles, and he seems to be making progress. I would argue that the jury is still out on development, as well. But, in reality, if we don't progress over the next 3 years to a point where recruits believe we can be a contender and make NCAA tournaments on a regular basis, we likely missed our window. Not saying it would impossible to progress after that, just that this little window where we have established momentum from new facilities and a new coach is a prime opportunity to make the proverbial jump a lot faster than a place like Nebraska normally could.
  14. I think diehard's post agrees with you - a player of Sai's caliber would make us better. A player less than Sai's caliber would be more or less what we're used to. Sai would be a very average recruit for most B1G teams above us. That's how I understood his premise.
  15. Robin alluded to Miami, Utah, providence, and LBSU in his article.Wasn't sure if any of those were unofficial. So we'd be the fifth? No K St, Mich or Arizona? Yes this will be his fifth official visit. Might be tough to beat Miami. Someone from Finland comparing South Beach with a snow-covered Lincoln might favor the g-strings.

  17. Anyone know which of his visits are official?
  18. I understand what you are saying, but I don't really agree with it. If NU ever wants to reach the top half of the conference and become a regular NCAA contender, then it is going to have to start landing some major prospects (and I'm not even certain I would call Sai a major prospect). I hate to break to you, but major prospects will ALWAYS have other quality options. Unless that prospect was born and raised in Nebraska--which is highly unlikely--then there is ALWAYS going to be a "home state" school and most likely, if that player is a major prospect, then that home state is also going to offer him. Or, as in this case, there may be multiple schools in the home state (ie, Arizone, ASU, etc), and maybe 1 or 2 of those home state schools will offer. Of, if it is not the home state, there are still going to almost ALWAYS be other more "prominent" schools with more tradition and NCAA wins, etc. At some point, this program must overcome those obstacles. That really is the only way to get this program where we want it to be. Losing Sai is not going to make or break this program or Coach Miles and I am not going to lose any sleep over it. But I will never understand that attitude of so many who seem to be happy (some almost giddy) simply because we are "competing" with other average BCS programs for a recruit. ASU is no UNC or KU. Yes, it was his home state, but as stated above, every player has a home state. If we succumb to that excuse every time, then we will never get a major recuit. At some point, what needs to be done must be done. It certainly won't be easy, but it is the only way. Very well said
  19. It's a message board, and it's recruiting. It's what fans do. It is? I must be a crappy fan. I follow recruiting, but I don't think it makes much sense to try to draw conclusions from every Tweet or post a recruit puts out there. While this process might be the biggest thing on a recruit's mind, it's not the only thing. And here we try to treat every tweet like it's some sort of clue to a puzzle we are to solve before the decision is made...
  20. Does it really make sense to try to make sense of every tweet he - or any recruit - puts out there, rather than just waiting for a decision??
  21. It's just nice being in on recruits with nice offer lists instead of guys choosing us over schools like Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Like Leslee Smith??
  22. I give him respect for his decision. Doesn't make sense to me... But he's obviously embracing the challenge of improving his draft stock against tougher competition.
  23. I could not disagree more with your post and judging by your post count I will assume you are just trolling until proven otherwise. Nope, not a troll. Been going to games for a looooooong time. Love the direction on the court, off the court Im 180 degrees the other direction. I don't believe you.But to humor your previous post... "At this point NU can't be picky. We need a full roster for next season. Until we have some success, if they have talent we have to take them assuming reasonable character." This is 100% the wrong move to make. Nebraska absolutely cannot take player just to have a full roster next season. Do I want Nebraska to have a full roster next season? Yes. But that is only if the right players are available for Nebraska to sign. Just taking players in order to make sure Nebraska has a full roster is one of the reasons that Nebraska has been where they have been under previous coaching staffs. You don't take a handful of players that are a reach, just to have a full roster, and then cross your fingers hoping it works out, because those players take up roster spots in future years as well. "I wonder if Miles regrets not following up on Doc's two big men? Both played this season against Creighton. The one whose last name started with an "F" could have played this year. He was serviceable. The other was a juco with little high school experience but showed promise with a redshirt year and three years to play, I believe. He had upside and may have been worth the risk." I would be shocked if Miles regrets not following up on Doc's two big men. Probably hasn't even given it another thought. "With the new arena one year away and a state-of-the-art practice facility I am unmoved by Miles recruiting." Not sure what your issue with recruiting is. Is Nebraska expected to start signing classes full of 4-Star/5-Star players in the first season? No. The current recruiting class is better than any recruiting class that Nebraska has had for a long time. And Nebraska is still looking at 2 more players. Nebraska has signed a 4-Star in this recruiting class. When was the last time Nebraska did that before Miles came to town? Nebraska has signed 2 players ranked in the top-25 of their position. When was the last time Nebraska did that before Miles came to town? http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/169923/tai-webster http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/104934/nick-fuller "Im equally unmoved by his ability to keep coaches. At least when Doc lost coaches they were to top programs, Marquette and UCLA. Miles is losing to Minny and Bradley. I hope the new AD is giving Miles money to keep coaches. Matthews got a 60% increase in pay to go to UCLA and was the lead recruuiter for S Mohamned, a likely freshman 1st round pick." Not sure what you expect differently out of this situation. People move back closer to home. It happens. Johnson moved back home and also back to his alma mater. Again, not sure what you expect differently out of this situation. It would likely be the same situation if a former Nebraska football player was offered a chance to come back to Nebraska and coach. Would the fans at Oregon get bent out of shape if Scott Frost came back to coach at Nebraska if he was offered the job? I don't imagine that they would be. It happens. Troll. Good responses. I could've believed it was an honest non-troll opinion (not that I would've agreed with it) until he brought up the assistant coaches. That screamed troll or ignorance.
  24. Dimes did a better job of making my point Well, your point seemed to be in response to Tim Smiles who said that Sai clearly had an interest in playing in the B1G. Your post in response seemed to suggest that you weren't convinced he'd be interested in playing in the B1G. And MY point was that he wouldn't have visited a B1G school if he didn't want to play in this conference. Now, Dimes is saying that conference affiliation doesn't seem to be a priority to Sai and I would say, true, nor does it seem to be an obstacle. In other words, he's not turned off by the idea of playing in the B1G and, if he has an interest in playing for us, he necessarily would have an interest in playing in the B1G since that's our conference. I took smiles post to mean he had a preference for the B1G and my response was a poor one. Probably mistaken.
